Towson United Methodist Church is a large United Methodist Church in the historic Hampton subdivision of Towson, a suburb in Baltimore County, Maryland. Its past, rooted in 19th century America, and subsequent growth in the two centuries since then, have closely paralleled the nation's political and sociological trends. It was a congregation split asunder in 1861 on the eve of the American Civil War in a border state of divided loyalties, which eventually reunited and built a church in the post-World War II era of the 1950s, a time of reconciliation and rapid growth by mainline Protestant denominations, especially in the more affluent suburbs.
The Kelso Home for Girls, formerly the Kelso Home and Orphan Asylum, was a 19th-century orphanage and school building for girls on East Baltimore Street in the Jonestown/Old Town neighborhood, east of the Jones Falls. It was founded by businessman and philanthropist Thomas Kelso, (1784–1878), a former member of the old Methodist Episcopal Church, and inaugurated in January 1874. Formerly the Towson Family YMCA, it is now the Y of Central Maryland Towson Family Center.
Recher Theatre was a concert venue in Towson, Maryland. It was located at 512 York Road in the building previously operated as the Towson Theatre, a one-screen movie theater. The Towson Theatre was designed by architect John Ahlers of the George Norbury MacKenzie III architectural firm. It cost $100,000 to build and opened on March 1, 1928. The theatre was sold to the Recher family in the 1950s, who continued running the cinema into the 1990s. They then converted it into an upscale billiard parlor. The building was later transformed into The Recher Theater, a concert venue, which opened in 1999.
The Towson Post Office at 101 West Chesapeake Avenue in Towson, Maryland, was completed in 1937. It is a two-story, limestone building, that is lightly styled in a Neo-Classical fashion. Formally the body of the building consists of three bays where the larger central portion projects slightly. The roof is a low gable topped by a modest central cupola. The lobby contains a transportation themed Works Progress Administration mural by Nicolai Cikovski. The mural drew considerable attention and criticism in the local press when it was completed in June 1938. The artist was a Russian emigre and an instructor at the Corcoran Gallery in Washington.

The outdoor mall is estimated to cost have $85 million to be built by its developers, Cordish Company and Heritage Properties, Inc.. It will be anchored by a 16 screen movie theater operated by Cinemark. The Cinemark theater somewhere between its initial announcement and its construction was reduced by 1 screen and officially opened on Thursday, July 10, 2014 as a 15 screen theater.
