Tracy Cramer is an Oregon Republican politician. She served in the Oregon House of Representatives for District 22 from 2023 to 2025,representing parts of Marion county,including the cities of Woodburn,Gervais,Brooks,and Salem. [1]
Cramer was born and raised in Gervais,Oregon. She graduated from Gervais High School and worked as a dental assistant. [2] She and her husband Jake have three children. [2]
In the 2022 Oregon House of Representatives election,Cramer defeated Democrat Anthony Medina. [3]
In her first term in office,Cramer sponsored legislation in favor of school choice, [4] to provide record funding for Oregon public schools, [5] repeal Measure 110, [6] and put tighter restrictions on the possession and use of fentynal. [7] She also supported legislation aimed at addressing Oregon's housing shortage, [8] including specific funding for housing for agricultural workers [9] and victims of sexual and domestic violence. [10]
Cramer is a member of the House Education Committee,House Early Childhood and Human Services Committee,and the Education budget committee.
Cramer was vocally opposed to a move by the Oregon State Board of Education to suspend graduation standards in Oregon high schools for another four years,following the Legislature's suspension in 2021. She told the Oregon Capital Chronicle at the time:"I think the bigger issue here is that the board has continued to remove standards and has not come up with a game plan,”she said. “I think that’s why parents and Oregonians are kind of frustrated. Just because graduation rates are improving,it doesn’t mean proficiency is.” [11]
Cramer has made her mark as one of the most anti-abortion members of the Oregon legislature. Staunchly pro-life,Cramer was a chief sponsor of HB 3420 [12] and a regular sponsor of HB 2526 [13] and HB 2424 in the 2023 legislative session. [14]
Cramer voted against a bill (HB 2697) in 2023 that required staffing ratios of a certain level in Oregon hospitals. After passage,Oregon's largest nurses union,Oregon Nursing Association,expressed concern about the subsequent rulemaking that make it overly complicated for emergency departments and their staff. [15]
She challenged the Oregon Department of Early Learning and Care —a new executive branch agency tasked with overseeing various preschool and early childhood education programs —about alleged misuse of taxpayer funds. [16] The Department of accused of spending millions of dollars on preschool slots that were never filled.
Cramer was one of 29 legislators to vote no on SB184,legislation that requires payments made to independent contractors be reported to the state for child support collecting purposes. [17] [18]
In the 2024 Oregon House of Representatives election,Cramer was narrowly defeated by Democratic challenger and education consultant Lesly Munoz. [19]

Darlene Kay Olson Hooley is an American politician and former Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Oregon who represented the state's 5th congressional district.
Michael D. Smigiel Sr. was an American politician who was a member of the Maryland House of Delegates,where he represented District 36,which covers Caroline,Cecil,Kent,and Queen Anne's Counties. He was first elected in 2002 along with fellow Republicans Richard Sossi and Mary Roe Walkup after the legislative boundaries were redrawn. Prior to 2002,District 36 had a separate representative for Cecil,Kent,and Queen Anne's Counties. After combining the districts,Smigiel won the seat previously occupied by former Elkton Mayor,James Crouse. Crouse was appointed to the seat in July 2001 following Governor Parris Glendenning's appointment of longtime Elkton Delegate Ronald A. Guns to the Public Service Commission. In 2006,he defeated Democratic challenger Mark Guns for reelection. In the 2006 election,the voting method returned to voting for a representative for each county.

The Treasure Valley Reload Center is a planned truck-to-rail shipping facility slated to open near Nyssa,Oregon,on the border of the U.S. states Oregon and Idaho as part of the Arcadia Industrial Park acquisition and development. Seen as a significant economic development opportunity for the state's poorest county (Malheur),the project received $26 million from state funds that were earmarked during the 2017 Oregon legislative session,and construction was supposed to begin by 2020. Nyssa also directed $3 million in federal funds toward the project,and in 2022 the Oregon Legislature approved an additional $3 million in an emergency grant. Onion farmers looking to ship their crops to markets in the Midwest would be among the main beneficiaries of the project.
The 83rd Oregon Legislative Assembly is the current session of the Oregon Legislature. It began on January 21,2025. Democrats netted one seat in both the House and the Senate to win a three-fifths supermajority in both chambers,which is required to pass new taxes or update existing taxes. However,they fell short of the two-thirds majority required to unilaterally meet quorum in both houses,needing 2 more seats in the Senate and 4 more seats in the House.
