Trent House is the European headquarters of the finance company Capital One. It is situated on Station Street to the south of the centre of the English city of Nottingham, opposite Nottingham railway station and adjacent to Loxley House, the administrative headquarters of Nottingham City Council.
The building dates from 1951, when it was built as a print works for the pharmaceutical company Boots, whose various premises occupied most of the surrounding area at that time. By 1998 the building was in a derelict condition when it was acquired by Capital One, who undertook a major internal transformation of the building between 1998-2000 for their use. [1]
Shortly after they moved in, Capital One acquired the adjoining plot and had Loxley House built on it to provided extra space. Loxley House was occupied in 2002, but in 2009 Capital One moved out and sold it to Nottingham City Council, whilst still retaining Trent House. In 2021, Capital One revealed plans to the remodel Trent House, to include a roof terrace for employees and visitors to use, and to introduce fresh internal conference space. [1] [2]

It is located 110 miles (180 km) north-west of London, 33 miles (53 km) south-east of Sheffield and 45 miles (72 km) north-east of Birmingham. Beeston is a town in the Borough of Broxtowe, Nottinghamshire, England, 3.4 miles (5.5 km) south-west of Nottingham city centre. To its north-east is the University of Nottingham's main campus, University Park. The pharmaceutical and retail chemist group Boots has its headquarters 0.6 miles (1 km) east of the centre of Beeston, on the border with Broxtowe and the City of Nottingham. To the south lie the River Trent and the village of Attenborough, with extensive wetlands.
Burton upon Trent, also known as Burton-on-Trent or simply Burton, is a market town in the borough of East Staffordshire in the county of Staffordshire, England, close to the border with Derbyshire. In 2021, it had a population of 76,270. The demonym for residents of the town is Burtonian. West Bridgford is a town and the administrative centre of the Borough of Rushcliffe in the county of Nottinghamshire, England. It lies immediately south of Nottingham, east of Wilford, north of Ruddington and west of Radcliffe-on-Trent. Broadmarsh is a historic area of Nottingham, England. The area was subjected to large scale slum clearance, creating large spaces used for regeneration. A shopping centre, car park, bus station and road complex created in the early 1970s cut-through the traditional thoroughfares from the city centre to the rail and canalside area. The University of Nottingham operates from four campuses in Nottinghamshire and from two overseas campuses, one in Ningbo, China and the other in Semenyih, Malaysia. The Ningbo campus was officially opened on 23 February 2005 by the then British Deputy Prime Minister, John Prescott, in the presence of Chinese education minister Zhou Ji and State Counsellor Chen Zhili. The Malaysia campus was the first purpose-built UK university campus in a foreign country and was officially opened by Najib Tun Razak on 26 September 2005. Najib Tun Razak, as well as being a Nottingham alumnus, was Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia at the time and has since become Prime Minister of Malaysia.

The Meadows or Meadows is an area of Nottingham, England, south of the city centre, close to the River Trent and connected to West Bridgford in the Borough of Rushcliffe by Trent Bridge and the Wilford Suspension Bridge. Victoria Embankment runs alongside the River Trent to the south of the Meadows and is home to the Nottingham War Memorial Gardens.
The City of Nottingham Water Department (1912–1974), formerly the Nottingham Corporation Water Department (1880–1912), was responsible for the supply of water to Nottingham from 1880 to 1974. The first water supply company in the town was the Nottingham Waterworks Company, established in 1696, which took water from the River Leen, and later from springs at Scotholme, when the river became polluted. Other companies were set up in the late 18th century and in 1824, while in 1826 the Trent Water Company was established. They employed Thomas Hawksley as their engineer, who became one of the great water engineers of the period, and Nottingham had the first constant pressurised water supply system in the country. The various companies amalgamated in 1845, and Hawksley remained as the consulting engineer until 1879.
Loxley House is the administrative office of Nottingham City Council and an office base for the Department of Work and Pensions and Nottingham City Homes in the south of Nottingham city centre. It is situated on Station Street, opposite Nottingham railway station and adjacent to Trent House, the former Boots print works that is now the European headquarters of the financial company Capital One.
Winton Square in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England, houses Stoke-on-Trent railway station, the North Stafford Hotel, and several other historic structures. The square was built in 1848 for the North Staffordshire Railway, whose headquarters were in the station building, and is a significant example of neo-Jacobean architecture. Today, all the buildings and structures in the square are listed buildings and the square is a designated conservation area.
Cardiff Bus Interchange ; formerly Cardiff Transport Interchange, sometimes Cardiff Interchange or The Interchange) is a new bus and transport interchange, as well as offices and apartments, in the centre of Cardiff, the capital city of Wales. It has been under construction since 2020 and due for completion in 2024. Once completed it will be run by the Welsh Government's transport arm, Transport for Wales. The bus station at the southern end of the complex is eight storeys high with 14-bays for buses on the ground floor, whilst the Interchange Tower at the northern end has 318 for-rent apartments, two floors of office space, and a retail unit on the ground floor.
