Trisha Ray is an independent producer, screenwriter, filmmaker, actor, editor and charcoal artist. [1]
In 2022, Ray finished the pilot episode of her 8-episode comedy series RECAST starring Lorelei Linklater, Eric Roberts Pooja Batra, San Banarje and Harry S. Murphy, and is currently in production of the season.
During her freshman year, while in California working at a printing press, Ray used her free time to complete her first feature-length screenplay Hola Armando and decided to quit school to pursue film production. She started interning for different production companies and learned every aspect of film production from being on set as a runner or production assistant, editor's help, demonstrator of new software and technologies at mall showrooms, until she was hired by a television network as an in-house producer.
In winter 2009, Ray and Banarje wrote a psychological thriller titled Bodhisattva , with Soumitra Chatterjee in the title role. [2] Ray wanted to play the role of Maya, but director San Banarje was not convinced by Ray's performance at the rehearsals and gave her the first day of shoot to prove herself, while looking for other actors to replace her on the second day. Her first day of shoot impressed the director and she did not need to get replaced. The entire film was shot in the home of Ray's mother who stayed in one room with their family pup Kalia until the day's shoot was over. [3]
In 2013, she co-wrote the thriller The Shadow Behind You, with San Banarje. This was followed by the 2013 Fall film Artisse written by Brian Stewart, that she directed. In winter 2013, she co-produced, and edited the dramedy Sex, Marriage and Infidelity for director-writer Richard Finger, starring actors Charlie O'Connell, Shannon Tweed, and her daughter with Gene Simmons, Sophie Simmons. All three films were released in 2014.
In 2015, Ray co-wrote the feature A Curry on an American Plate with the film's director San Banarje. The film starred Rick Fox, Charlie O'Connell and Andrea Guasch. In 2018 and 2019, Ray wrote and directed the thriller 6 Rounds of Chloe with Kamala Lopez and San Banarje in lead roles, and Alexandra Goel in the title role of Chloe. In 2020, Ray and San started their comedy series RECAST. The show, that was to shoot in Los Angeles, had to be delayed due to coronavirus, and filming started in November 2020 in Houston.

Feluda is a fictional detective, private investigator created by Indian director and writer Satyajit Ray. Feluda resides at 21 Rajani Sen Road, Ballygunge, Calcutta, West Bengal, India. Feluda first made his appearance in a Bengali children's magazine called Sandesh in 1965, under the editorialship of Ray and Subhas Mukhopadhyay. His first adventure was Feludar Goendagiri. Feluda is one of the most impactful Bengali characters of all time.
Apur Sansar, also known as The World of Apu, is a 1959 Indian Bengali-language drama film produced, written and directed by Satyajit Ray. It is based on the second half of Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyay's novel Aparajito. Following Pather Panchali (1955) and Aparajito (1956), The World of Apu is the final part of Ray's The Apu Trilogy, about the childhood and early adulthood of a young Bengali named Apu in early twentieth century India. The World of Apu stars Soumitra Chatterjee and Sharmila Tagore ; the duo would go on to appear in many subsequent Ray films.

The film has a complex portrayal of several themes including nationalism, women emancipation, spiritual and materialistic take on life, tradition versus modernism, and others.
Sabitri Chatterjee is an Indian actress who is known for her work in Bengali theatre and cinema. Her career spans more than 60 years. She is the recipient of BFJA Awards for two times. In 1999, she was conferred with Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for Acting in Bengali theatre. In 2013, she was awarded by the Government of West Bengal its highest civilian award; the Banga Bibhushan. San Banarje is an American filmmaker. He was born in Kolkata, India to an orthodox Hindu Brahmin family but never practiced any religion and went on to produce several Christian films. A resident of Houston, Texas, San is a serial entrepreneur who also produces and Directs Films along with teaching finance and option trading.
Bodhisattva or "Interrogation of a Husband" is a 2010 independent film directed by San Banarje and written by Trisha Ray and San Banarje. The film stars Soumitra Chatterjee in the title role and Trisha Ray as his daughter. The film was shot in seven days and edited in one month. The world premiere of film was on 19 April 2010 at the Worldfest Houston International Film Festival where it won the Platinum Remi Award. The English title is 'Interrogation of a Husband.'
The Nowhere Son is an Indian/American independent film written, shot and directed by San Banarje starring Soumitra Chatterjee, Trisha Ray, San Banarje and Biswajit Chakraborty. The film, produced by Next Actor Studio, Houston, was shot in India and United States in cities such as Calcutta, Kashi, Houston, Galveston and New Orleans.
Bachchan is a 2014 Bengali comedy thriller film directed by Raja Chanda and produced and distributed under the banners of Reliance Entertainment and Grassroot Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. The film feature actors Jeet, Aindrita Ray and Payel Sarkar in the lead roles. It is an official remake of the 2011 Kannada film Vishnuvardhana.
Badshahi Angti is a 2014 Indian Bengali-language thriller film directed by Sandip Ray, based on the novel of the same name by Satyajit Ray, starring Abir Chatterjee and Sourav Das as Feluda and Topse respectively. The film was released on 19 December 2014. It is the first film which stars Abir Chatterjee as Feluda. This was going to be a reboot to previous Feluda film series after Royal Bengal Rahashya. But in 2016 Sandip Ray cancelled the reboot series because Abir Chatterjee started a new version of film series based on Byomkesh Bakshi franchise under Shree Venkatesh Films and Surinder Films. The other reason was the new Feluda movie Sandip Ray intended to make under a Mumbai-based production house Eros International, but Abir has a strict contract with Shree Venkatesh Films and Surinder Films.
Bela Seshe is a 2015 Indian Bengali-language family drama film directed by Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee and presented by Atanu Raychaudhuri. It is produced by Windows Production and distributed by Eros International. Veteran actors Soumitra Chatterjee and Swatilekha Sengupta played the lead roles in this film, who were last seen in Satyajit Ray’s film Ghare Baire, three decades earlier. Stree is a 1972 Indian Bengali language romantic action film directed by Salil Dutta. Based on the novel of Bimal Mitra as same title and the era of the plot showing during the Second World War. Produced by Baby June Productions marking their second venture, it stars Uttam Kumar, Soumitra Chatterjee and Arati Bhattacharya in lead roles. The soundtrack of the film was composed by Nachiketa Ghosh, with the lyrics penned by Gauriprasanna Mazumder and Pulak Bandyopadhyay.
Alokananda Roy is an Indian actress known for her work in Bengali cinema and theatre. She made her thespian debut at the age of seven in the 1951 and later on became part of numerous Bengali plays. She made her screen debut with Satyajit Ray's Kanchenjungha (1962). She received a BFJA Award for her role in Buddhadeb Dasgupta's Bengali film Phera (1988). She appeared in National Award winning films such as Paromitar Ek Din, Utsab, Prohor and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose: The Forgotten Hero.
