Dunn was the executive producer and star of the television show The Locator, which ran five seasons on the cable network WE. [1] In 2013, the cable network TNT announced it was producing a similar program for which he would be executive producer and host, APB with Troy Dunn. [2] In 2015, he was the host and executive producer of the UPTV show "Last Hope With Troy Dunn". [3]

As of 2012, Troy said on episode 600 of the Dr. Phil show that he had been married almost 25 years. He said he had eight children, six boys and two girls.
Dunn has been accused by members of his family of having a multi-year sexual relationship with one of his sons' wives. He has also been accused by many women he attended church with of pursuing them sexually and sending inappropriate texts to young women in the church who were turning 18. He continues to live as a Mormon, but appears to be leading a sexual double-life with a complicit wife by his side.
