The Troy Trojans women's volleyball team represents Troy University in the sport of volleyball. The Trojans compete in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) and the Sun Belt Conference (SBC). The Trojans play their home matches in Trojan Arena on the university's Troy, Alabama campus, and are currently led by head coach Josh Lauer.

History

The Troy Trojans women's volleyball was founded in 1975 under the direction of Troy State's women's athletic director, Joyce Sorrell, who was also named the head coach of the team. The team competed in the Alabama AIAW before moving to the NCAA's Division II in 1980.

In 1983, the team won its first conference championship, winning the Gulf South Conference Tournament title, and fishing the season with an overall record of 29-15. The volleyball team reached their greatest milestone when they again won the Gulf South Conference Tournament title in 1990, finishing with an overall record of 33-6, which is currently the most wins in a season that Troy volleyball has ever had.

During the 2021 season, Troy set a program record for the most wins over Power 5 teams in one season. Troy beat Alabama, LSU, and Virginia Tech that season, finishing with an 18-13 record with an appearance in the NIVC Tournament. Troy would defeat Middle Tennessee in the First Round, before falling to North Florida in the Second Round.

The Troy Trojans football program represents Troy University in Troy, Alabama, in the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision, of which it has been a member since 2001. The football program joined the Sun Belt Conference in 2004. The current head football coach is Jon Sumrall. Troy has won 21 conference championships, with 6 in the Sun Belt Conference. Home games of the Trojans are played in Veterans Memorial Stadium.

Donald D. Maestri Jr. is an American college basketball coach who was the head men's basketball coach at Troy University from 1982 to 2013. Prior to accepting this position, Maestri was an assistant coach at Mississippi State University from 1979 to 1980 and at the University of Alabama from 1980 to 1982. Maestri coached the Trojans to a record of 500–404, one NCAA Basketball Tournament, five regular season conference titles, and one conference tournament title over the course of 26 seasons at Troy. He has been named coach of the year in the East Coast Conference (1994), the Summit League, Atlantic Sun Conference and the Sun Belt Conference (2009)

Coastal Carolina Chanticleers

The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers are the athletic teams that represent Coastal Carolina University. They participate in Division I of the NCAA as a member of the Sun Belt Conference in most sports, having joined that conference as a full but non-football member on July 1, 2016. At that time, the football team began a transition from the second-level Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) to the top-level Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS). The team played the 2016 season as an FCS independent, joined Sun Belt football for the 2017 season, and became full FBS members for 2018 and beyond. A Chanticleer is a proud and fierce rooster. Prior to joining the Sun Belt, the Chanticleers had been members of the Big South Conference since that league's formation in 1983. Coastal fields varsity teams in 20 sports, 9 for men and 11 for women. The university regularly competed for the Sasser Cup, the Big South's trophy for the university with the best sports program among the member institutions, winning the trophy nine times, tied with rival Liberty University.

The Troy Trojans baseball team is the varsity intercollegiate baseball team of Troy University, located in Troy, Alabama, United States. It competes in the NCAA Division I Sun Belt Conference. The program began play in 1911. In 1986 and 1987, Troy won Division II national championships under head coach Chase Riddle. As a Division II program, the team won 10 conference titles and appeared in 14 NCAA Regionals and 7 College World Series.

North Alabama Lions

The North Alabama Lions are the athletic teams of the University of North Alabama, located in Florence, Alabama. The Troy Trojans men's basketball program is the intercollegiate men's basketball of Troy University. The program is classified in NCAA Division I and the team competes in the Sun Belt Conference. The team currently plays their home games in Trojan Arena, which was built in 2012 and replaced the old arena known as Sartain Hall.

West Alabama Tigers

The University of West Alabama currently has 18 sports teams. Men's and women's outdoor track were added in Spring 2013. Men's and women's golf started in the fall of 2013. Pittsburgh Panthers women's volleyball is the NCAA Division I intercollegiate volleyball program of the University of Pittsburgh, often referred to as "Pitt", located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Pitt volleyball team competes in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and plays their home games in Fitzgerald Field House. The 2017–18 Troy Trojans men's basketball team represented Troy University during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Trojans, led by fifth-year head coach Phil Cunningham, played their home games at Trojan Arena in Troy, Alabama as members of the Sun Belt Conference. They finished the season 16–17, 9–9 in Sun Belt play to finish in a three-way tie for fifth place. They defeated South Alabama in the first round of the Sun Belt Tournament before losing in the quarterfinals to Georgia State.

2018–19 Troy Trojans womens basketball team Intercollegiate basketball season

The 2018–19 Troy Trojans women's basketball team represents Troy University during the 2018–19 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Trojans, led by sixth year head coach Chanda Rigby, play their home games at Trojan Arena and were members of the Sun Belt Conference. They finished the season 22–9, 13–5 in Sun Belt play to finish in third place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the Sun Belt Tournament to South Alabama. They received an at-large bid to the WNIT where they lost to UAB in the first round.
