Dionysios Philosophos or Skylosophos, "the Dog-Philosopher" or "Dogwise" ("skylosophist"), as called by his rivals, was a Greek bishop, who led two farmer revolts against the Ottoman Empire, in Thessaly (1600) and Ioannina (1611), with Spanish aid. He is considered one of the most important bishops of the Greek Orthodox Church who acted conspiratorially and revolutionary against the Ottomans during the Ottoman rule in Greece.
Kyriakos Velopoulos is a Greek politician. He is a member of the Hellenic Parliament and has been president of the Greek Solution political party since its foundation in 2016. Velopoulos is a former parliamentarian for the Popular Orthodox Rally (LAOS) and former member of New Democracy. He is also a journalist, author and television personality.
The Kapodistrias Museum or Kapodistrias Museum–Centre of Kapodistrian Studies is a museum dedicated to the memory and life's work of Ioannis Kapodistrias. It is located in the area Koukouritsa of Evropouli in Corfu, Greece. The property was donated by Maria Desylla-Kapodistria great granddaughter of Georgios Kapodistrias, younger brother of Ioannis Kapodistrias and the only one of the brothers who got married. The museum was established in 1981. Ioannis Kapodistrias' summer home in the rural area of Koukouritsa in his birthplace of Corfu, houses the museum, showcasing exhibits commemorating his life and accomplishments. Mrs Maria Desylla-Kapodistria, a former mayor of Corfu (1956–1959) and the first female mayor in Greece, donated the residence to the three primary cultural societies of Corfu specifically for that purpose. The museum also functions as a centre for Kapodistrian and Corfiote studies.
Aspioti-ELKA was one of the largest publishing and printing enterprises of Greece. Founded in 1873 in Corfu by Gerasimos Aspiotis as a factory manufacturing playing cards under the name Elpis it eventually merged with the Etairia Lithographias kai Kytiopoieias Athenon (ELKA) and finally became Aspioti-ELKA.
The Agia Sophia Stadium, also known by its commercial name OPAP Arena, is the home stadium of AEK Athens. With an all-seater capacity of 32,500, it is the third largest football stadium overall in Greece. It is located in Nea Filadelfeia, a northwestern suburb of Athens, Greece. The new arena was built on the site of the former Nikos Goumas Stadium stadium. The construction of the arena was completed in October 2022. OPAP Arena is the newest stadium built in Greece.

During the morning hours of November 15, 2017, after heavy rainfall caused because of the barometric low Eurydice and the Cyclone Numa, flooding occurred in Western Attica and mainly in Mandra, Nea Peramos, Magoula and Elefsina. The floods killed 24 people and caused severe damage. This is the third largest flood in Attica based on the number of dead.

The Democratic Patriotic Movement – Victory, often shortened to simply Victory, is a Greek political party that operates in the conservative space and emphasises education and family. It was founded by educator Dimitris Natsios in 2019.
