Tunis-Socialiste was a French language daily evening newspaper published in Tunis, Tunisia. [1] It was the organ of Tunisian Federation of the SFIO. [1] [2] The newspaper was founded in March 1921, after the communists had split away from the SFIO and taken the publication l'Avenir sociale with them. [3] The initial editorial team of Tunis-Socialiste consisted of Dr. Albert Cattan, André Duran-Angliviel, Joachim Durel and the Fiche couple. [2] [4] Tunis-Socialiste carried the byline "for the brotherhood of the races". [3]

He died on 5 October 2016 at the age of 95.

Under the authoritarian regimes of Habib Bourguiba, and then Zine el-Abidine Ben Ali, it saw periods of liberalization and then challenges, notably due to Tunisian censorship. The 2010-2011 Tunisian protests and the subsequent change in government may bring significant change in this domain.

Napoléon Doumet-Adanson

Napoléon Doumet-Adanson (22 October 1834, Guéret – 31 May 1897 Château de Balaine was a French naturalist. He was a botanist specialising in the flora of Tunisia. He was a founder member of the Société d'horticulture et de botanique de l'Hérault. Doumet was also interested in entomology. He was a Member of the Institut de France.

Sofiane Bouhdiba

Sofiane Bouhdiba is a Tunisian demographer, born on 12 April 1968. He is Professor of Demography in the department of Sociology in the University of Tunis. He has taught in many universities in Europe, Africa and the United States, and has participated in a great number of international conferences, with a focus on mortality and morbidity. As an international consultant to the United Nations, he had the opportunity to observe closely the history of the fight against major diseases in the world. He has also participated in numerous scientific and humanitarian missions in sub-Saharan Africa. Professor Sofiane Bouhdiba is well-known for the realism of his recommendations, and has been appointed as an expert in Demography before the Tunisian Parliament.

Sophie Bessis is a Tunisian-born French historian, journalist, researcher, and feminist author. She has written numerous works in French, Spanish, and English on development in the Maghreb and the Arab world, as well as the situation of women denouncing the identity imprisonment to which they are subjected. She is the recipient of the Paris Liège literary prize and was honored as Commandeur of the Order of the Republic.

Paul Sebag, born 26 September 1919 in Tunis and died 5 September 2004 in Paris) was a French-Tunisian sociologist and historian.

Nacéra Benseddik is an Algerian historian, archaeologist and epigrapher. She was born in Bordj Bou Arreridj on 4 December 1949.
