Sousse or Soussa is a city in Tunisia, capital of the Sousse Governorate. Located 140 km (87 mi) south of the capital Tunis, the city has 271,428 inhabitants (2014). Sousse is in the central-east of the country, on the Gulf of Hammamet, which is a part of the Mediterranean Sea. Its economy is based on transport equipment, processed food, olive oil, textiles, and tourism. It is home to the Université de Sousse.
Port El Kantaoui is a tourist complex 10 kilometres north of Sousse city in central Tunisia. It was built in 1979 specifically as a tourist center, around a large artificial harbour that provides mooring with 340 berths for luxury yachts, hosting sporting activities from water skiing to paragliding, and several golf courses.

It was played from 1998 to 2002 at the Monte Carlo Golf Club, La Turbie, Alpes-Maritimes, France. The course is near Mont Agel, in France, as there are no golf courses in Monaco. The Monte Carlo Open was played at the same venue from 1984 to 1992.
The Lawrence Batley Seniors was a senior men's professional golf tournament on the European Senior Tour. It was played from 1992 to 2002 in the Huddersfield area of West Yorkshire, England. From 1995 the tournament was held at Huddersfield Golf Club, north of Huddersfield, while in 1994 it was held at Woodsome Hall Golf Club, south-west of Huddersfield, and in 1992 and 1993 at both venues. The tournament was sponsored by Lawrence Batley who had earlier supported a European Tour event, the Lawrence Batley International, from 1981 to 1987. Batley died in August 2002, soon after the final tournament.

From 1996 to 2000 it was held at Buckinghamshire Golf Club, Denham, Buckinghamshire while in 2001 it was played at Mere Golf and Country Club, Mere, Cheshire, England. The 2001 event had total prize of £150,000 with the winner receiving £25,000.

The tournament was held at Collingtree Park Golf Club near Northampton from 1992 to 1997 and at The Welcombe Hotel, Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire in 1998. Neil Coles won the tournament three times while it was played at Collingtree Park.
The Swedish Seniors was a men's professional golf tournament on the European Seniors Tour in 1997 and 1998. The tournament was held at Fågelbro Golf and Country Club on the Island of Värmdö, east of Stockholm, Sweden.

Mike Ferguson is an Australian professional golfer. Ferguson was one of Australian's top golfers during the late 1970s and early 1980s. In 1977 he won the Western Australian Open for his breakthrough victory. Two years later he won back-to-back events, Illawarra Open and Gold Coast Classic. In 1981, "his most successful year," he won two state PGA championships, the New South Wales PGA Championship and the Queensland PGA Championship. Shortly thereafter, citing poor discipline, his game declined; Ferguson failed to make the PGA Tour and he would not win another official regular event. As a senior, however, Ferguson would have some success, winning five significant events in the Australasian region, including the Australian Seniors PGA Championship twice.
