Tuomas Rantanen (born 1 January 1972) from Tampere, Finland is a musician creating hard, monotonous and percussive techno music. Outside music, Tuomas Rantanen is specialized in the philosophy of Martin Heidegger.[ citation needed ]

Nightwish is a Finnish symphonic metal band from Kitee. The band was formed in 1996 by lead songwriter and keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen, guitarist Emppu Vuorinen, and former lead singer Tarja Turunen. The band soon picked up drummer Jukka Nevalainen, and then bassist Sami Vänskä after the release of their debut album, Angels Fall First (1997). In 2001, Vänskä was replaced by Marko Hietala, who also took over the male vocalist role previously filled by Holopainen or guest singers.

Laurent Garnier, also known as Choice, is a French electronic music producer and DJ. Garnier began DJing in Manchester during the late 1980s. He became a producer in the early 1990s and recorded several albums.

<i>Over the Hills and Far Away</i> (EP) 2001 EP by Nightwish

Over the Hills and Far Away is the first EP by Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish, released on 25 June 2001 through Spinefarm Records in Finland, and Drakkar Records in the rest of Europe. It was also released by Toy's Factory in Japan and Century Media Records in the US. Bassist Sami Vänskä left the band after its recording, due to musical differences between him and Tuomas Holopainen. He was replaced by the bassist and male vocalist, Marko Hietala.

Psychick Warriors ov Gaia was a group of Dutch techno music record producers from the town of Tilburg, also known as PWOG, Thee Disciples ov Gaia and Sluagh Ghairm. Two of the members were affiliated with Thee Temple ov Psychick Youth. The group has included Bobby Reiner, Boris Hiesserer, Joris Hilckmann, Reinier Brekelmans, Reinoud van den Broek, Robbert Heynen and Tim Freeman. Heynen started eXquisite CORpsE, a musical side project which had several releases, which he left the group in 1992 to concentrate solely on. The liner notes to In Absence presents it as the group's final show. After the performance Robbert Heijnen, Reinier Brekelmans and Tim Freeman founded the band Sumus.

Kompleksi is an electro act from Tampere, Finland. It was formed in 2002, consisting of Mike Not and pHinn. Their approach is eclectic, combining influences from electro, electropop, techno music and synthpop to psychedelic and experimental music.

Club Telex Noise Ensemble was a short-lived musical side-project of the Club Telex electro night of Tampere, Finland, combining improvisation and experimental music to electro music and even lounge music. Its members were Mikko "DJ mini" Niemelä, pHinn, Antti Koivumäki and Mikko Ojanen. Also Olli Sotamaa, Kaj Mäkelä and Antti Vuorio participated in Club Telex Noise Ensemble. Club Telex Noise Ensemble did only three live performances between December 2000 and April 2001; one of them as the encore of the gig of Chicks on Speed in Tampere, March 2001. The CDR Just To Disturb You A Little Bit was compiled of these live performances. A remix compilation CTNERMX was based on these tracks, featuring such artists as Kemialliset Ystävät, Legowelt, Kompleksi, Luke Eargoggle, Massaccesi, Tuomas Rantanen and Unidentified Sound Objects. Delta Recordings, a label from London, UK, released a 4-track 12" vinyl sampler of these tracks in early 2004. The second remix compilation, CTNERMX II, is planned for 2006, featuring such artists as Maxx Klaxon.
