Tupper Lake is a lake in New York in the United States. [1] The lake is in the Adirondack Park and crosses the county lines of St. Lawrence County and Franklin County.
Tupper Lake was discovered by Native Americans indigenous to the area around the 16th century. The first European to see it was Ansel Tupper, a land surveyor. It is aligned in a northeast to southwest direction along its length. The lake is fed and drained by the Raquette River.
The lake is located in the towns of Altamont (Franklin County) and Piercefield (St. Lawrence County). The Village of Tupper Lake is at the northeast end of the lake in the Town of Tupper Lake. The village is adjacent to Raquette Pond, an arm of the lake at its northwest end. Another arm of the lake, Lake Simond (also known as Simond Pond and Simon Pond), is south of the village. Some of the islands in the lake include County Line Island and Bluff Island.
Harrietstown is a town in Franklin County, New York, United States. The total population was 5,709 at the 2010 census, of whom 3,879 lived in the village of Saranac Lake on the eastern side of the town.

New York State Route 37 (NY 37) is a state highway in the North Country of New York in the United States, extending for 127.40 miles (205.03 km) on a west–east axis. The western terminus of the route is at an intersection with U.S. Route 11 (US 11) in Pamelia, Jefferson County. Its eastern terminus is at a junction with US 11, NY 11B, and NY 30 in Malone, Franklin County. In between the termini, NY 37 passes through Ogdensburg and Massena. Santanoni Peak is a mountain located in Essex County, New York. The mountain is part of the Santanoni Mountains of the Adirondacks. The mountain's name is believed to be an Abenaki derivative of "Saint Anthony"; the first French fur traders and missionaries having named the area for Saint Anthony of Padua. Santanoni Peak is flanked to the north by Panther Peak, and to the southwest by Little Santanoni Mountain.
Donaldson Mountain is a mountain located in Franklin County, New York, named in 1924 after Alfred Lee Donaldson (1866–1923), author of A History of the Adirondacks. The mountain is part of the Seward Mountains of the Adirondacks. Donaldson Mtn. is flanked to the northeast by Seward Mountain, and to the south by Mount Emmons.

The Saranac Lakes Wild Forest is a discontinuous 79,000-acre (320 km2) tract designated as Wild Forest by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation in Franklin and Essex Counties near Saranac Lake, Tupper Lake, and Lake Placid. The area covers large portions of Harrietstown, Santa Clara, and North Elba; smaller portions are in Altamont, St. Armand, Brighton, and Franklin. The area is served by State Routes NY-3, NY-30, NY-86, and NY-73.
4,077-acre Long Lake is a 14-mile (23 km) lake in the town of Long Lake in Hamilton County, New York in the United States; the average width is half a mile. It is part of the Raquette River, which flows in a straight, northeast-trending valley. NY 30 crosses at a narrows 4 miles (6.4 km) from the south end where the hamlet of Long Lake is located. There are two public beaches and a state boat launch. More than half of the shoreline is part of the New York State Forest preserve. The northern end of the lake is undeveloped. The lake is also part of the 740-mile Northern Forest Canoe Trail, which begins in Old Forge, NY and ends in Fort Kent, ME. The Long Lake Camp for the Arts is based on the west side of the lake.
