Francesco Gaetano Moliterno, known professionally as Franko Moliterno or Turno, is an English musician from Bedford. After losing his brother to suicide, Turno released a UK Top 40 single about men's mental health. [1] His charity single, "What's On Your Mind", was released in 2022. [2] The single "Rave Out" with Charlotte Plank and Skepsis charted at No. 37 on the UK Top 40 in 2023. [3]

Life and career

Francesco Gaetano "Franko" Moliterno [4] is from Bedford, [1] and had a brother, Fabio, [5] who ran Escobarbers in Bedford town centre [6] and committed suicide [5] in September 2021 [7] following years of poor mental health; [5] both are of Italian descent. [8] In October 2016, [9] he set up a clothing range; [10] its brand name, Time Is Now, was taken from the idea of not waiting until tomorrow to do things. [11] He then released the albums Power and DNA. [12] In February 2022, he released "Melia", a collaboration with free climber George King which had come about after King used Moliterno's "Abyss" in one of his tracks. [13]

To mark one year of Fabio's death, Franko released a single, "What's On Your Mind" on 15 September 2021, which featured SJ Loq, Myleedan, Phizi, and Too Lippy. [7] The song appeared throughout the first episode of the second series of We Are England, a BBC documentary series, which had been filmed after the gym and mental health charity Samsons Academy approached the BBC wanting to make a documentary about male suicide, and involved the remaining Moliternos; [14] originally intended for broadcast the day after release, [15] the death of Queen Elizabeth II meant that schedules were scrambled, [16] and the programme actually aired three weeks later. [17] A drum and bass remix of the song was released on 10 October 2022, that year's World Mental Health Day; [7] profits from both versions went to Mind, [2] a mental health charity. [1]

In October 2022, Moliterno organised a mental health seminar with the record label DnB Allstars, [18] and in December 2022, Moliterno organised a writer's camp with Ultra Records, which took place the following month; during this week, he recorded 22 tracks, the first of which was "Rave Out", which featured Skepsis and Charlotte Plank and discussed men's mental health. [18] The track came out in June 2023, [19] by which time Moliterno's "Killer" had charted at No. 94 on the UK Singles Downloads Chart; upon release, "Rave Out" charted at No. 37 on the UK Singles Chart. The Prototypes is a British drum and bass project by producer Nick White. Until May 2023, it was a duo alongside fellow producer Chris Garvey. Founded in Brighton, England, in the late 2000s, by 2010 they had released their first singles on labels such as Formation Records and Viper Recordings, and from 2011 to 2013 were signed to Shogun Audio. They have released a number of EPs, and have received radio and live PA support from DJs such as Matrix & Futurebound. Signing exclusively to Viper Recordings in 2014, in the following months the duo released a number of promo singles for a debut album. Their resulting single, "Pale Blue Dot" ranked as Beatport's second top selling drum and bass track of the year. The track was also nominated for Best Track at the Drum & Bass Arena Awards, with The Prototypes also nominated for Best Producer, Best Music Video, and Best DJ.

Noisia were a Dutch electronic music trio consisting of members Nik Roos, Martijn van Sonderen and Thijs de Vlieger from Groningen, Netherlands. They produced a wide variety of music including drum and bass, dubstep, breakbeat and house, releasing music under labels including Skrillex's Owsla, deadmau5's mau5trap and Jay-Z's Roc Nation. Noisia previously combined with the group Foreign Beggars to form the supergroup side project I Am Legion. They released their collaborative self-titled album on 2 September 2013. Noisia also have production credits under the pseudonym Nightwatch, such as for their work with Alexis Jordan, Hadouken!, Wiley and Wretch 32. They produced Hadouken!'s album For the Masses that charted at number 19 on the UK Albums Chart.

She also co-wrote "Risk It All" by Ella Henderson, House Gospel Choir, and Just Kiddin, which peaked at No. 100 on the UK Singles Chart, and "My Heart Goes " by Becky Hill and Topic, which peaked at No. 11 on said chart. She is a member of Loud LDN.

"Liberation" is a 1995 song by British recording artist Lippy Lou, released as her debut single. Produced by German DJ and producer Mike Koglin, it was described by Billboard as a "coming out anthem" and was released on Boy George's record label More Protein. It peaked at number 57 on the UK Singles Chart, but was an even bigger hit on the UK Dance Chart, reaching number 8. Outside Europe, it peaked at number 102 in Australia. "Messy in Heaven" is a song by British singer Venbee featuring East Midlands producer Goddard. Charlotte Plank is an Australian-British singer. She has released three solo singles, and has also featured on the single "Dancing Is Healing" by Rudimental and Vibe Chemistry, which charted at No. 5 on the UK Singles Chart. She is also a member of Loud LDN.

Loud LDN is a British collective of female and gender-expansive artists based in London. Formed in May 2022 by Coupdekat and Maisi as a WhatsApp group chat called Ladies Making Noise in London, the chat expanded into its own Instagram page and eventually into its own events before moving to Discord. Piri, Caity Baser, Venbee, Issey Cross, FranQi, Charlotte Plank, Willow Kayne, Bshp, Charlotte Haining, A Little Sound, Parthenope, Ellie Dixon, Georgia Twinn, Nonô, Molly Burman, Matilda Cole, Lucy Tun, Nieve Ella, Hannah Grae, Spider, Nxdia, and DellaXOZ have all spent time in the collective, and its members regularly enter the UK Singles Chart; one chart featured five entries from Loud LDN members.

Andrew Goddard, known under the stage name Goddard., is a musician from Kettering, England. He is best known for his remix of Cat Burns's "Go", which charted at No. 2 on the New Zealand Singles Chart, and for featuring on Venbee's "Messy in Heaven", which charted at No. 3 on the UK Singles Chart.

Scott Elliott Jenkins is an English musician from Beckenham. He is best known for his 2023 single, "Rave Out", with Turno and Charlotte Plank, which charted at No. 37 on the UK Singles Chart; his 2024 follow-up with Plank, "Green & Gold" with Rudimental and Riko Dan, charted at No. 29. He has also released the collaborative album Pure Bassline 2 with DJ Q and Jamie Duggan, which charted at No. 2 on the UK Dance Albums Chart, and the 2021 studio album Faith in Chaos, which charted at No. 79 on the UK Album Downloads Chart.
