Tushar Mehta is a senior counsel in India and is currently serving as the Solicitor General of India. [1]
Mehta attended the Gujarat University,where he obtained his law degree and received five gold medals. [2] He has also received honorary doctorates from Amity University,Noida [3] and Karnataka State Law University. [4]
Mehta began his career as an advocate in 1987 and was designated as a senior advocate in 2007 at the age of 42 by the Gujarat High Court. He was appointed as the Additional Advocate General in 2008. [5] Mehta was appointed as the Additional Solicitor General of India in 2014. [6] Mehta was then appointed as the Solicitor General of India in 2018.

The Solicitor General of India (SGI) is subordinate to the Attorney General for India. The SGI is the second-highest law officer of the country,assists the Attorney General,and is assisted by Additional Solicitors General of India (Addl. SGIs). The SGI and the Addl. SGIs advise the Government and appear on behalf of the Union of India in terms of the Law Officers (Conditions of Service) Rules,1972. However,unlike the post of Attorney General for India,which is a Constitutional post under Article 76 of the Constitution of India,the posts of the Solicitor General and the Additional Solicitors General are merely statutory.
Narsinh Mehta,also known as Narsinh Bhagat,was a 15th-century poet-saint of Gujarat,India,honored as the first poet,or Adi Kavi, of the Gujarati language. Narsinh Mehta is member of Nagar Brahman community. Narsinh became a devotee of Krishna,and dedicated his life to composing poetic works described as bhakti, or devotion towards Krishna. His bhajans have remained popular in Gujarat and Rajasthan for over 5 centuries. Most notably,his composition Vaishnav Jan To was Mahatma Gandhi's favorite and became popular with freedom fighters across India.
Aziz Mushabber Ahmadi was an Indian judge who was the 26th chief justice of India. After serving as a judge in the Gujarat High Court,Ahmadi was appointed judge to the Supreme Court in 1988. He was then elevated to the post of chief justice,and served from 1994 to 1997. He served as chancellor at the Aligarh Muslim University for two terms.
Ramanlal C. Mehta was an Indian musician and musicologist. In 2009,he was awarded the Padma Bhushan,India's third-highest civilian honour.

Kottayan Katankot Venugopal is an Indian constitutional lawyer and a senior advocate in the Supreme Court of India. He was enrolled as an advocate on January 27,1954. On 1 July 2017,he was appointed as the Attorney General of India and retired on 30 September 2022. He is Patron of SAARCLAW and earlier has been its President. He is founder of M K Nambyar SAARCLAW Centre For Advanced Legal Studies at the NALSAR Law University.
Fali Sam Nariman is an Indian jurist. He is a senior advocate to the Supreme Court of India since 1971 and was the President of the Bar Association of India from 1991 to 2010. Nariman is an internationally recognised jurist on international arbitration. He has been honored with the 19th Lal Bahadur Shastri National Award for Excellence in Public Administration 2018. He is one of India's most distinguished constitutional lawyers and he has argued several leading cases. He remained Additional Solicitor General of India May 1972- June 1975.
Sanjiv Bhatt is a former Indian Police Service officer of the Gujarat-cadre. He is known for his role in filing an affidavit in the Supreme Court of India against the then Chief Minister of the Government of Gujarat,Narendra Modi,concerning Modi's alleged role in the 2002 Gujarat riots. He claimed to have attended a meeting,during which Modi allegedly asked top police officials to let Hindus vent their anger against the Muslims. However,the Special Investigation Team appointed by the Supreme Court of India concluded that Bhatt did not attend any such meeting,and dismissed his allegations.
Rohinton Fali Nariman is a former judge of the Supreme Court of India. Before being elevated as a judge,he practised as a senior counsel at the Supreme Court. He was appointed the Solicitor General of India on 23 July 2011. He also served as a member of the Bar Council of India. He was designated as a Senior Counsel by Chief Justice Manepalli Narayana Rao Venkatachaliah in 1993 at the early age of 37.

Mohan Parasaran is a Senior Advocate at the Supreme Court of India. In February 2013 he was appointed the Solicitor General of India and continued in this post till May 2014. He served as part of the Congress led UPA 2 government. Previously he held the post of Additional Solicitor General of India for nine years. In 2012,he resigned from the post of Additional Solicitor General but the resignation was not accepted by the Government. He was designated senior advocate in 2002.

Sidharth Luthra is a senior advocate at the Supreme Court of India. In July 2012,Sidharth Luthra was appointed as the Additional Solicitor General of India at the Supreme Court and represented the union and various state governments in matters relating to fundamental rights,electoral reforms,criminal law and policy issues. He resigned from this position in May 2014. He is the son of K.K. Luthra who was also a senior advocate and brother of senior advocate Geeta Luthra.

Mukul Sinha was an Indian human rights activist and a lawyer at the Gujarat High Court in Ahemdabad. He was an active trade union leader and a trained physicist. He legally represented the families of the individuals who were killed in Gujarat following the 2002 riots and in Manipur,in which he secured convictions of the politicians and police officers involved. Along with his wife Nirjhari Sinha,he founded and served as the president of Jan Sangharsh Manch,an independent civil rights organization with the aim of addressing issues of labour and workers rights. He was also a vocal critic of erstwhile Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
Pinky Anand is an Indian lawyer and was designated as until May 2020. She served as an Additional Solicitor General of India at the Supreme Court of India. She is also a politician.
Raghuveer Chaudhari is a novelist,poet and critic from Gujarat,India. He has also worked as a columnist for numerous newspapers,such as Sandesh,Janmabhumi,Nirikshaka and Divya Bhaskar. He was a teacher at the Gujarat University until his retirement in 1998. His most significant contributions have been in Gujarati language but he has also written Hindi articles. He received the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1977,for his novel trilogy Uparvas. He received Jnanpith Award,considered to be India's highest literary award,in 2015. In 2019,he was awarded a D.Lit. by Gujarat University.
K. T. S. Tulsi is an Indian politician and a senior advocate in the Supreme Court of India. He was elected to the Rajya Sabha the upper house of Indian Parliament from Chhattisgarh as a member of the Indian National Congress earlier he had been nominated to the Rajya Sabha. He has represented many notable people in various cases.
