Lyngør is a village area on a group of small islands in the municipality of Tvedestrand in Agder county, off the southeast coast of Norway. The village is about 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) northeast of Tvedestrand and approximately 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) southwest of the town of Risør. The village is located on several islands located very close together and separated by small straits that are less than 100 metres (330 ft) wide. The village is located on the islands of Holmen, Odden, Lyngøya and Steinsøya. The Lyngør Lighthouse lies at the northeast edge of the village area.

Southern Norway is the geographical region (landsdel) along the Skagerrak coast of southern Norway. The region is an informal description since it does not have any governmental function. It roughly corresponds to the old petty kingdom of Agder as well as the two former counties of Vest-Agder and Aust-Agder. From New Year 2020, the two counties have been merged into one county, Agder. The total combined area of Vest-Agder and Aust-Agder counties is 16,493 square kilometres (6,368 sq mi). The name is relatively new, having first been used in Norway around 1900.

Dypvåg is a former municipality in the old Aust-Agder county, Norway. The 15-square-kilometre (5.8 sq mi) municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 1960 when it was merged into the present-day municipality of Tvedestrand which is in Agder county. The small municipality included the coastal area about 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) east of the town of Tvedestrand and several islands located just offshore. The administrative centre was the village of Dypvåg where the Dypvåg Church is located.

Holt is a former municipality in the old Aust-Agder county in Norway. The 176-square-kilometre (68 sq mi) municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 1960 when it was merged into the present-day municipality of Tvedestrand which is now in Agder county. The administrative centre of Holt was located just south of the village of Fiane where Holt Church is located.

Risør og Tvedestrand Bilruter was a Norwegian bus company that operated in the eastern parts of Agder on contract with the county administration of Aust-Agder. In June 2005, SBR sold its half to RTB. In 2007, the company had 36 buses and 85 employees, and was owned by the municipalities of Risør, Tvedestrand, Vegårshei and Gjerstad, where the bus company had most of its routes. Along with Setesdal Bilruter it bought Høvågruta in 2002.

Norwegian county road 411 (Fv411) is a Norwegian county road in Agder county, Norway. The 27.8-kilometre (17.3 mi) long road runs between Tvedestrand and Risør municipalities. The western end of the road starts at the junction of Norwegian County Road 410 in the town of Tvedestrand in Tvedestrand municipality. It then heads along the coastline until it reaches the junction with Norwegian County Road 416 at Bossvika in Risør municipality.

Kaja Bordevich Ballo was a Norwegian university student who took her own life in Nice, France, on March 28, 2008, shortly after taking an Oxford Capacity Analysis (OCA), a personality test administered by the Church of Scientology, earlier the same day. Family and friends state that Ballo was happy prior to taking the OCA, and that her mood dramatically shifted after receiving the results; she jumped from the fourth floor of her dorm room hours later. In addition to a suicide note, Ballo's family found the OCA among her belongings. French police investigated connections between Scientology and Ballo's death, and interviewed two leaders of the Church of Scientology in France; prosecutors stated in December 2008 that they were unable to establish a causative link.

Østre Agder is a district or region in Agder county in southern Norway. The district covers the eastern, coastal areas of the county including the eight municipalities of Arendal, Tvedestrand, Risør, Grimstad, Gjerstad, Vegårshei, Åmli, and Froland. The city of Arendal is the largest city in the region. Other cities in the district include Tvedestrand, Grimstad, and Risør. This region is bounded by Telemark County to the north, by the Setesdal region to the northwest, and by the Kristiansand Region to the southwest.

Raet National Park is a national park in Arendal, Tvedestrand and Grimstad in Agder, southeastern Norway. It is mostly a marine park, and includes some islands and coastal areas. Raet covers an area of 607 km2 (234 sq mi), of which 599 km2 (231 sq mi) is sea and 8 km2 (3 sq mi) is land. The park was established on 16 December 2016.

Tvedestrand is a town and the administrative centre of Tvedestrand municipality in Agder county, Norway. The town is located at the northern end of the Tvedestrandfjorden at the intersection of the Norwegian County Road 411 and Norwegian County Road 410. The Tvedestrand Church is located in the central part of the town. The 2.04-square-kilometre (500-acre) town has a population (2019) of 2,582 and a population density of 1,267 inhabitants per square kilometre (3,280/sq mi). In Norway, Tvedestrand is considered a by which can be translated as either a "town" or "city" in English.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Tvedestrand Church</span> Church in Agder, Norway

Tvedestrand Church is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Tvedestrand Municipality in Agder county, Norway. It is located in the town of Tvedestrand. It is the church for the Tvedestrand parish which is part of the Aust-Nedenes prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Agder og Telemark. The red, brick church was built in a long church design in 1860 using plans drawn up by the architect Georg Andreas Bull. The church seats about 300 people.
