Tyler Pace is an American politician and businessman. Pace was elected in 2018 to serve in the Arizona State Senate representing District 25 as a member of the Republican Party. Pace succeeded incumbent Republican State Senator Bob Worsley,who withdrew his name from the ballot prior to the Republican primary. [1] [2] He was defeated for reelection in 2022.
Pace is a native of Mesa,Arizona,and attended Arizona State University before becoming involved in the private sector where he bought and sold several businesses. [3]
Since Arizona became a U.S. state in 1912,it has sent congressional delegations to the United States Senate and United States House of Representatives,beginning with the 63rd United States Congress in 1913. Before becoming a state,the Arizona Territory elected a non-voting delegate at-large to Congress from 1864 to 1912. Each state elects two senators to serve for six years,and varying numbers of members of the House,depending on state population,to two-year terms. Arizona has sent nine members to the House in each delegation since the 2010 United States Census.
Jon Llewellyn Kyl is an American politician and lobbyist who served as a United States Senator for Arizona from 1995 to 2013. Following the death of John McCain in 2018,Kyl briefly returned to the Senate;his resignation led to the appointment of Martha McSally in 2019. A Republican,he held both of Arizona's Senate seats at different times,serving alongside McCain during his first stint. Kyl was Senate Minority Whip from 2007 until 2013. He first joined the lobbying firm Covington &Burling after retiring in 2013,then rejoined in 2019.
