Tyler Scott (born September 21, 1985 in Windsor, Ontario) is a Canadian former wide receiver. He previously played in the Canadian Football League where he last played for the Edmonton Eskimos. He attended the University of Western Ontario as a geography major with an intention to pursue teaching. [1] He was drafted in the 2008 CFL Draft by the Toronto Argonauts.

Professional career

Scott's first game in the CFL was a pre-season game against the Montreal Alouettes on June 12, 2008, where he had two receptions for 20 yards for the Argonauts. Assistant General Manager Greg Mohns was impressed with his dedication, size, and movement. "He studied the playbook and he has not made a lot of mental mistakes," Mohns said following the first game. "He has a chance to make the final roster." [1]

On May 27, 2010, Scott was released by the Toronto Argonauts. Scott was picked up by the Edmonton Eskimos on July 27, 2010, signing a two-year deal. [2]

On June 8, 2012, during training camp, Scott collided with defensive back Rico Murray and was hospitalized. [3] Scott was placed on the 9-game injured list.

The 1973 CFL Draft composed of nine rounds where 93 Canadian football players were chosen from eligible Canadian universities and, for the first time, Canadian players playing in the NCAA. Prior to 1973, teams were given exclusive signing privileges to Canadian players who attended U.S. schools based on the territory he was domiciled. After the draft was expanded to include NCAA schools, teams were also permitted to exempt from the draft and select players from their area, regardless of where they attended school.

The 1981 CFL Draft composed of seven rounds where 81 Canadian football players were chosen from eligible Canadian universities and Canadian players playing in the NCAA.
