A wide receiver (WR), also referred to as a wideout, and historically known as a split end (SE) or flanker (FL), is an eligible receiver in gridiron football. A key skill position of the offense, WR gets its name from the player being split out "wide", farthest away from the rest of the offensive formation.
The tight end (TE) is an offensive position in American football, arena football, and Canadian football. It is a hybrid that combines the characteristics and roles of both an offensive lineman and a receiver. As part of the receiver corp, they play inside the flanks (tight), contrasted with the split end who plays outside the flanks (wide). Slotback, sometimes referred to as an S-back or A-back, is a position in gridiron football. The "slot" is the area between the offensive tackle and the wide receiver. A player who lines up between those two players and behind the line of scrimmage fills that "slot".
James Norman Young is a former professional American football and Canadian football player. Young played running back and wide receiver for the NFL's Minnesota Vikings for two seasons (1965–66), and the CFL's BC Lions for thirteen seasons (1967–79). Young is a member of Canada's Sports Hall of Fame, the Canadian Football Hall of Fame, the BC Sports Hall of Fame, and the Queen's University Football Hall of Fame. Young's #30 jersey is one of ten numbers retired by the BC Lions. In 2003, Young was voted a member of the BC Lions All-Time Dream Team as part of the club’s 50th anniversary celebration. In 2006, Young was voted to the Honour Roll of the CFL's top 50 players of the league's modern era by Canadian sports network TSN.

Courtney Tyrone Hawkins, Jr. is a former American football player and coach who is currently the wide receivers coach at Michigan State. He was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the second round of the 1992 NFL Draft. A 5'9", 190 lbs wide receiver from Michigan State University, Hawkins played in nine NFL seasons from 1992 to 1996 for the Buccaneers and then the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1997 to 2000.
The Bergamo Lions are an American football team from Bergamo, Italy established in 1983 and playing in the Italian Football League. They won the Eurobowl in 2000, 2001 and 2002, while losing to the Vienna Vikings in the finals of 2004 and 2005 Eurobowl. In Italy, the Lions have won the Italian league championship more than any other team 12 times. The Lions last Italian Championship was won in the 2008 season.

The 2006 BC Lions season was the 49th season for the team in the Canadian Football League and their 53rd overall. The Lions finished in first place in the West Division for a third consecutive season with a 13–5 record and won the 94th Grey Cup over the Montreal Alouettes. Lions quarterback Dave Dickenson was named the game's Most Valuable Player after completing 18 of 29 passes for 184 yards and rushing for 53 yards on six carries. Placekicker Paul McCallum tied a Grey Cup record by kicking six field goals en route to being named the Grey Cup's Most Valuable Canadian. The Lions won their fifth Grey Cup championship in franchise history and first since 2000 when they also defeated the Alouettes.
Cory Watson is a wide receivers coach for the Concordia Stingers of U Sports football. He was formerly a professional Canadian football wide receiver who was drafted ninth overall by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the 2010 CFL Draft and played for five seasons with the club. He was also a member of the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Edmonton Eskimos and BC Lions. He also played CIS football for the Stingers.
Randy Reutershan is a former American football player who performed in a single season in the National Football League (NFL) for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was a member of teams that won a college football national championship and Super Bowl XIII over the Dallas Cowboys.
