Route to the Final
The Final Four of the tournament were #1 seed Ateneo Blue Eagles, #2 UP Fighting Maroons, #3 FEU Tamaraws, and #4 UST Growling Tigers who just finished from the Elimination Round. UP finished the season undefeated with 10 wins and 4 draws, and defeated 4th seed De La Salle, 1 - 0. The goal came from confusion with the La Salle defenders clearing the ball, which ended up with Kyle Magdato who easily converted a few feet from the spot kick area. This proved to be the needed goal for UP to advance to the final. UP overpowered La Salle 13 shots, with 6 on goal, against 4 shots.
On the other side of the draw, third seed UST Growling Tigers upset second seed and reigning champs Ateneo Blue Eagles, 1 - 0, which needed extra time after a scoreless draw after 90 minutes. The goal came from a corner kick by Austin Alianza in the 105th minute, initially cleared by Ateneo's goalkeeper Alex Arcilla which ended up with a UST player. A scramble ensued as Ateneo tried to clear the ball, however UST's Conrado Dimacali stood tall as the substitute headed the ball into the Ateneo net. UST avenged their season 79 defeat from Ateneo and headed to their first UAAP Men's Football finals since season 74 meeting, coincidentally against the same team, UP.

UAAP Season 73 is the 2010–2011 athletic year of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines. It was hosted by De La Salle University. The men's basketball and the women's volleyball tournaments were aired by ABS-CBN Channel 2 and Studio 23 for the eleventh consecutive year following the renewal of the contract for the broadcast of the games. The opening ceremonies were held on July 10, 2010 with the opening game pitting the season host and the UP Fighting Maroons.

Eight universities are competing in fifteen sports to vie for the general championship. Each sporting event is hosted by a school.

It opened on September 5, 2015, almost two months after the usual July opening of the league during previous seasons, due to the shift in the academic calendars of four member universities, i.e. Ateneo, La Salle, UP and UST. It was hosted by the University of the Philippines.
The UAAP Season 77 men's seniors division football tournament started on November 29, 2014, at the Moro Lorenzo Football Field at the Ateneo de Manila University in Quezon City, Metro Manila. Opening-day games were the men's teams of UP vs DLSU at 2 PM and Ateneo vs UE at 4 PM. The tournament venue will also be played at the FEU-Diliman Football Field also in Quezon City, Metro Manila.
UAAP Season 79 is the 2016–2017 athletic year of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). This season, hosted by the University of Santo Tomas officially opened on September 3, 2016. The opening ceremony was held at the UST Plaza Mayor at 3:00 pm with the formal introduction of ballroom dancing as a demonstration sport in this season by the host school University of Santo Tomas (UST) at España, Manila. The official ceremony started at 5:00 pm as there was a concert party themed "Dare to Dream" where the official theme song for the season was revealed. However, unlike in the previous years when the first double-header basketball games were held following the opening ceremonies, this year it was held the following day, September 4 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The UAAP Season 78 basketball tournaments are held in school year 2015-16. University of the Philippines Diliman is the season host. The basketball tournaments started with a doubleheader basketball games after the opening ceremonies on September 5, 2015, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum and ended on December 2, 2015, at the Mall of Asia Arena, while the junior's basketball has currently been held since November. ABS-CBN's UHF channel ABS-CBN Sports and Action broadcast the men's tournament for the sixteenth consecutive year.
The UAAP Season 78 seniors division football tournament started on February 7, 2016, following the shift in the start of the league. The tournament opened at Emperador McKinley Hill Stadium in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City. Other games were held at the Moro Lorenzo Football Field of Ateneo de Manila University in Katipunan Ave., Loyola Heights, Quezon City. Ateneo was the tournament host.
The UAAP Season 78 Men's Football Final took place on 5 May 2016 at the Rizal Memorial Stadium. It was contested between UP Fighting Maroons and Ateneo Blue Eagles. UP won 4–1, with one goal from Daniel Gadia and a hat-trick from Kintaro Miyagi, to claim their sixth UAAP Football Championship final victory; Ateneo's goal was scored by Mikko Mabanag.
The UAAP Season 79 Men's Football Final took place on 7 May 2017 at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.It was the final match of the UAAP Season 79 football tournaments of the UAAP Season 79. It was contested between the Ateneo Blue Eagles and the FEU Tamaraws. Ateneo won 1-0, with Jarvey Gayoso's goal at the 39th minute to claim their seventh UAAP Football Championship title.
UAAP Season 80 was the 2017–18 athletic year of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). This season was hosted by the Far Eastern University.
UAAP Season 81 is the 2018–19 athletic year of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). This season is hosted by National University.
UAAP Season 82 was the 2019–20 athletic year of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). The season was hosted by the Ateneo de Manila University.
UAAP Season 85 was the 2022–23 athletic year of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). Season 85 theme is "Rise as One", and the season host was the Adamson University. With just seven events in Season 84, the collegiate league will be bringing back the full athletic calendar of events for Season 85.
UAAP Season 86 is the 2023–24 season of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). The season host is the University of the East (UE) under the theme "Fueling the Future". The opening ceremonies was held on September 30, 2023, or right after the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup, which was co-hosted by the Philippines. UE also aims to add more events to the calendar, subject to the approval of the UAAP Board.
The UAAP Season 86 collegiate division football tournament started on February 18, 2024, while the high school division started on January 21, 2024. Both the collegiate and high school divisions were played at the UP Diliman Football Stadium in Quezon City.
