The UAE Football League (UFL) Rookie of the Year is awarded by the Sheikh Majid Bin Mohammed Football Season Award to the most outstanding rookie of the season. To be considered a rookie the following are criteria for the award: his behaviors, his participation with the national team and Club, the impact of the player on the results of his team, and the extent of his contribution to the achievement of team championship [1]

A Rookie of the Year award is given by a number of sports leagues to the top-performing athlete in his or her first season within the league. Athletes competing for the first time in any given league are also known as "rookies".

He played college football at the University of Louisville, and was drafted in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings. With the Vikings, Bridgewater threw for 14 touchdowns in each of his first two seasons, including winning the NFC North and making a Pro Bowl appearance in 2015. The following preseason, Bridgewater suffered an injury to his left leg, which knocked him out for all but one offensive series the next two seasons.
Jameis Lanaed Winston is an American football quarterback for the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League (NFL). Born and raised in Alabama, he was a highly regarded quarterback in high school and led his team to the state championship as a junior. Winston played college football for the Florida State Seminoles and as a redshirt freshman became the youngest player to win the Heisman Trophy and helped lead the Seminoles to a victory in the 2014 BCS National Championship Game. In his sophomore and final year, the Seminoles advanced to the Rose Bowl, part of the College Football Playoff. Winston also played on Florida State's baseball team. Winston was drafted as the first overall pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2015 NFL Draft.
