The University of Southern California is a private research university in Los Angeles, California. Founded in 1880 by Robert Maclay Widney, it is the oldest private research university in California. The Denver Pioneers are the sports teams of the University of Denver (DU). They play in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I. Denver is a member of The Summit League for men's and women's basketball, swimming and diving, men's and women's soccer, tennis and golf for both men and women, plus women's volleyball. Other DU teams play in various conferences in the sports that are not sponsored by The Summit. The men's ice hockey team is a charter member of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC), which formed in 2011 with play beginning in 2013. The team was ranked #2 in both the final AP Poll and the final UPI Coaches Poll.

The USC Trojans women's basketball team, or the Women of Troy, is the collegiate women's basketball team that represents the University of Southern California, in the Pac-12 Conference. The team rose to prominence in 1976, at which time scholarships became available to female basketball players. They were the first Division I team to give these scholarships.
The 2013–14 USC Trojans women's basketball team will represent University of Southern California during the 2013–14 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Trojans, led by first year head coach Cynthia Cooper-Dyke, play their home games at the Galen Center and were a members of the Pac-12 Conference. They finished with a record of 22–13 overall, 11–7 in Pac-12 play for a tie for 4th place. They won the 2014 Pac-12 Conference women's basketball tournament for the first time in school history. They earn an automatic bid to the 2014 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament which they lost in the first round to St. John's.
The 1939–40 USC Trojans men's basketball team represented the University of Southern California during the 1939–40 NCAA men's basketball season in the United States. Their head coach was Sam Barry, coaching in his 11th season with the Trojans. The Trojans played their home games in the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California as members of the South division of the Pacific Coast Conference. The team finished the season 20–3, 10–2 in PCC play to win the South division. They swept North division champion Oregon State in the best of three series to win the PCC championship. USC was invited to the NCAA tournament where they defeated Colorado before losing to Kansas in the Final Four. Despite the loss, they were named national champions by the Helms Athletic Foundation.
The 2008 NCAA Men's Water Polo Championship was the 40th annual NCAA Men's Water Polo Championship to determine the national champion of NCAA men's collegiate water polo. Tournament matches were played at the Avery Aquatic Center in Stanford, California from December 6–7, 2008.
Savannah Lee Levin is an American soccer player who played as a defender for Kopparbergs/Göteborg FC in the Swedish Damallsvenskan. At the University of Southern California (USC) from 2013 to 2016, she played for the USC Trojans women's soccer team that won the 2016 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Tournament.
The 2017–18 USC Trojans women's basketball team represents the University of Southern California during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Trojans, led by first year head coach, 6th overall Mark Trakh, play their home games at the Galen Center and were members of the Pac-12 Conference. They finished the season 20–11, 9–9 in Pac-12 play to finish in seventh place. They defeated Washington State in the first round before losing to Stanford in the quarterfinals of the Pac-12 women's basketball tournament to Stanford. They would have clinched the automatic berth to the 2018 Women's National Invitation Tournament, but declined to participate, despite being the highest-ranked non-NCAA team in the Pac-12.
Lindsey Munday is a former collegiate women's lacrosse player who won two national championships at Northwestern and has served since 2013 as the inaugural head coach of the USC Trojans women's lacrosse team.
Rhonda Windham is a former WNBA general manager of the Los Angeles Sparks from 1997 to 1999. Before joining the Sparks, Windham played basketball at the University of Southern California between 1982 and 1987. With USC, Windham scored 1,040 points and was the assists leader for each season except for 1984. During her last year in college, Windham played at the 1987 Summer Universiade and received the 1987 Frances Pomeroy Naismith Award.
The 2011 NCAA Division I Tennis Championships were the 65th annual men's and 29th annual women's championships to determine the national champions of NCAA Division I men's and women's singles, doubles, and team collegiate tennis in the United States. The tournaments were played concurrently during May 2011.
