Ubigi is a mobile connectivity service that uses eSIM technology. It has been operated since 2017 by Transatel, a telecommunications company founded in 2000, which became a subsidiary of the Japanese group NTT in 2019. [1] Ubigi functions as a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) [2] with its own network code (901–37).
The service provides cellular data plans that enable internet access in over 200 destinations through an eSIM profile. Ubigi offers services for individual travelers, businesses, and connected vehicles. Its solutions are compatible with a range of devices, including smartphones, [3] tablets, [4] laptops, [5] and certain vehicles. [6]
To provide connectivity, Ubigi establishes agreements with local carriers in various countries. [7] The service also supports 5G speeds in regions where the technology is available. [8]
The Ubigi app, available for iOS [9] and Android [10] devices, allows users to monitor their data usage.
Ubigi was launched in 2017 as a global eSIM connectivity service. The service was initially introduced under the name Cellular Data and was targeted at laptops, which were among the first devices to integrate eSIM technology.
In 2018, the service was rebranded as Ubigi. Around the same time, eSIM-compatible smartphones, including Apple's iPhone XR and XS, [11] entered the market, and the company established partnerships in the automotive sector. These developments expanded the service beyond laptops to other consumer electronics and connected vehicles. [12]

Ubigi for Business is a professional service offered by Ubigi that provides eSIM-based mobile data connectivity solutions for enterprises and their employees. [26] [27] It is designed to support devices such as smartphones, tablets, laptops, and mobile routers, particularly for employees who travel or work remotely.
The service includes a centralized management platform that allows organizations to assign data plans, monitor usage, and manage costs through an administrative interface. Companies can select different billing options for employees, either based on actual usage or through pre-assigned data allowances.
Ubigi for Business is part of the broader trend of eSIM adoption in enterprise mobile connectivity, which aims to simplify device management and reduce reliance on physical SIM cards.
