Svensktoppen is a weekly record chart airing on Sveriges Radio. Until January 2003, the songs had to be in the Swedish language. Svensktoppen has aired since 1962, except for the years 1982–1985. In the years leading up to the January 2003 change, the programme was strongly dominated by dansband music.
Patrik Christian Isaksson is a Swedish singer and songwriter. He competed in Swedish Melodifestivalen 2006 with the song "Faller du så faller jag" and again in 2008, with the song "Under mitt tunna skinn". In 2012, he competed in the Danish Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2012 with the song "Venter", a duet with Christian Brøns. As of July 2020, Isaksson has released six studio albums.
Lasse Stefanz is a Swedish dansband formed in Kristianstad in 1967. The band was popular during the 1980s. The band was formed by Hans Sigfridsson, Lars Sigfridsson and Olle Jönsson. Later members are Christer Ericsson, Anders Pettersson and Gunnar Nilsson. Olle Jönsson is the singer, as well as the ex-drummer. Lasse Stefanz had hits with songs as "Oh, Julie" (1982) and released albums as Peppelinos Bar (1988). 1989-1990, Lasse Stefanz and Christina Lindberg had a Svensktoppen hit with the song "De sista ljuva åren". In 1989, Lasse Stefanz was awarded a Grammis for "Dansband of the year".
Wizex is a Swedish dansband formed in Osby in 1973. It purchased the rights to the name from a band that started as Ulrik Wittmans Kvintett in 1957. When Ulrik Wittman left the band in 1963 they started to use the name Wizex. When read out the name sounds like "The Six of Us", "vi sex", in Swedish, and it was six persons left in the band when they changed the name. Today's band had six founders and was allowed to purchase the name, and hence use 1973 as the starting point.

Sanna Viktoria Nielsen is a Swedish singer, television presenter and musical theatre performer. On her seventh attempt, she won Melodifestivalen in 2014 with the song "Undo" and so represented Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark, finishing in 3rd place overall. Sanna was one of the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 commentators for Sweden and hosted Melodifestivalen 2015 along with comedian Robin Paulsson. She was announced as the new presenter for the sing-along show Allsång på Skansen for the summer of 2016. She hosted Eurovision The Party at the Tele2 Arena for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016.
Svante Thuresson was a Swedish jazz musician. He started his career as a drummer before joining the band Gals and Pals in 1963. Svante won the national selection and represented Sweden in the Eurovision song contest in 1966 with Nygammal vals and came in second place; he performed with Lill Lindfors.
Streaplers is a Swedish musical group, founded 1959 in Kungälv as a pop group and later developed into a dansband. Original members were Gert Lengstrand (vocals), Bjarne Lundquist, Göran Liljeblad, Håkan Liljeblad och Lars Larsson.

It is the second single released from his sixth studio album En händig man, in digital format only. A promotional single was also released. It spent seven weeks on the Swedish Singles Chart, peaking at number 29.

Helene & gänget was a dansband in Kristianstad in Sweden, founded 1990 by members of the Färmarna dansband. The band broke through in 1995 with the album Segla din båt i hamn. The band broke up in 2002 and its singer Helene Persson begun acting as SR Kristianstad programme host. Du har det där is the debut studio album by Swedish dansband Grönwalls. It was released on 29 October 1992. Being the band's debut album, it was nominated for a Grammis Award. The songs "Du har det där" and "Du ringde från Flen" also became Svensktoppen hit songs.
"Faller du så faller jag" is a song written by Patrik Isaksson, and performed by himself at Melodifestivalen 2006, where it was knocked out at the Second Chance Contest.
Blickar som tänder is the second studio album by Swedish band Friends, released in 2000. The album was re-released in 2001 as "Lyssna till ditt hjärta" with two bonus tracks.
"Last Night I Had the Strangest Dream" is a song written by American folk singer-songwriter Ed McCurdy in 1950. Due to McCurdy's connection with fellow musicians, it was common in repertoires within the folk music community. The song had its first album release when Pete Seeger recorded it as "Strangest Dream" for his 1956 album Love Songs For Friends & Foes. Seeger would later re-visit the song for his 1967 album Waist Deep in the Big Muddy and other Love Songs. The strong anti-war theme of the song led it to be recorded by multiple other artists, including The Weavers (1960), Joan Baez (1962), The Kingston Trio (1963), Simon & Garfunkel (1964), and Johnny Cash who released two versions of the song during the 2000s.
Swedish singer-songwriter Per Gessle has released thirteen studio albums, four live albums, three compilation albums, one collaborative album, three box sets, six demo albums, one soundtrack album, two EPs and three video albums. He also released 53 singles, including two as a featured artist, one as Peter Pop and the Helicopters, one as Rita & the Rip-Off!, eight as Mono Mind and seven as PG Roxette.
