The Emirate of Umm Al Quwain is one of the seven constituent emirates of the United Arab Emirates, located in the north of the country. It is the second smallest and least populous emirate in the UAE and borders the Persian Gulf. Umm Al Quwain lies between Ras Al Khaimah and Sharjah/Ajman on the west coast, with a location along the vital trade route between the Middle East and India. It has a coastline stretching to 24 km.
The Al Ali is a tribe of the Arabian Peninsula, notably in the United Arab Emirates. The tribe originally settled the island of Siniyah off Umm Al Quwain, later moving to the mainland and building a fort and defensive wall there in the late 1700s, founding the emirate of Umm Al Quwain. Umm Al Quwain Museum, also known as UAQ National Museum or Umm Al Quwain National Museum, is a museum founded by Sheikh Rashid bin Majid Al Mualla. It is located in an old souq area called Madeena Al Qadeema in the city of Umm Al Quwain, in an old fort that was once home to the ruling family.
