Undercut is a 2004 martial arts film written and directed by Stephen Reedy.
American Ninja Eric loses his job as a state employed peace officer when his job is outsourced to cheaper, cost effective Chinese labor. As if dealing with the hardships of unemployment weren't stressful enough, Ninja Dog is sick and needs expensive medicine.
Undercut was released online via The Stunt People sometime in 2004. It has also been screened at WonderCon the San Diego Comic-Con and at The Metreon.
In 2006, Undercut was nominated for the mtvU Student Filmmaker Award in the 2006 MTV Movie Awards. Despite large media coverage both local and national Undercut did not win. This is likely because MTV had deleted at least a few 100,000 online votes under the suspicion that there had been foul play. MTV informed the director Stephen Reedy that there had been a voting spike that they considered to be “unorganic”. However, it should be known that the other student films did not have the same media coverage or inbuilt following that Undercut already had with followers of The Stunt People and martial arts movie fans in general.

Action film is a film genre in which the protagonist or protagonists are thrust into a series of events that typically include violence, extended fighting, physical feats, rescues and frantic chases. Action films tend to feature a mostly resourceful hero struggling against incredible odds, which include life-threatening situations, a dangerous villain, or a pursuit which usually concludes in victory for the hero. Advancements in computer-generated imagery (CGI) have made it cheaper and easier to create action sequences and other visual effects that required the efforts of professional stunt crews in the past. However, reactions to action films containing significant amounts of CGI have been mixed, as films that use computer animations to create unrealistic, highly unbelievable events are often met with criticism. While action has long been a recurring component in films, the "action film" genre began to develop in the 1970s along with the increase of stunts and special effects. Common action scenes in films are generally, but not limited to, explosions, car chases, fistfights and shootouts.
Chan Kong-sang, known professionally as Jackie Chan, is a Hong Kong martial artist, actor, stuntman, filmmaker, action choreographer, and singer. He is known in the cinematic world for his slapstick acrobatic fighting style, comic timing, use of improvised weapons, and innovative stunts, which he typically performs himself. He has trained in Wushu or Kung Fu and Hapkido, and has been acting since the 1960s, appearing in over 150 films.

Frank William Dux is a martial artist, fight choreographer and author. According to Dux, a ninjutsu expert named Senzo Tanaka trained him as a ninja when he was a teenager. He established his own school of ninjutsu called Dux Ryu Ninjutsu, and has said he won a secret martial arts tournament called the Kumite in 1975. His alleged victory at the Kumite served as the inspiration for the 1988 film Bloodsport starring Jean-Claude Van Damme. Dux's victory at the Kumite has been disputed, as has the existence of both the Kumite he described and Senzo Tanaka.
Gerard James Butler is a Scottish actor and film producer. After studying law, Butler turned to acting in the mid-1990s with small roles in productions such as Mrs Brown (1997), the James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), and Tale of the Mummy (1998). Dirty Sanchez was a British stunt and prank TV series featuring a group of three Welshmen and one Englishman harming themselves, and each other, through dangerous stunts. It was known as Sanchez Boys and Team Sanchez in the U.S. The performers are Matthew Pritchard, Lee Dainton, Michael Locke and Dan Joyce, and were originally based in Newport, South Wales, but later series of the show take place elsewhere in the United Kingdom and the world. Jackass is an American reality comedy television series created by Johnny Knoxville, Spike Jonze, and Jeff Tremaine, directed by Tremaine, and produced by Dickhouse Productions. Kung Fu Hustle is a 2004 Chinese action-comedy film directed by Stephen Chow, who also stars in the lead role. Ninja Assassin explores political corruption, child endangerment and the impact of violence. Arnis in popular culture reflects the impact that the Filipino martial arts of Arnis/Eskrima/Kali have made outside of the martial arts community. The three terms are roughly interchangeable and for the purpose of convenience, the term Arnis will be used throughout the article. These arts emphasize weapon-based fighting with sticks, blades, improvised weapons and hand-to-hand fighting which is formally known as Mano Mano or Pangamut.
