UniCredit Bank Slovakia was a Slovak bank, formed by the merger of HVB Bank Slovakia and UniBanka in 2007, [1] both owned by Italy-based UniCredit Group. In 2013 it was absorbed by UniCredit Bank Czech Republic, forming UniCredit Bank Czech Republic and Slovakia.

UniBanka

UniBanka, formerly known as Pol'nobanka, was a Slovak bank headquartered in Bratislava. An additional 51% shares was acquired from Slovenska Poistovna in May 2000 by UniCredit. [2] European Bank for Reconstruction and Development was a minority shareholder of the bank, for 20% stake. [3] Before the acquisition, UniCredit (at that time known as Unicredito Italiano) already owned 5.43% shares, [2] which was previously owned by Unicredito. [4]

UniCredito was an Italian holding company, formed by the owner of banks: the banking foundations of Cassa di Risparmio di Verona, Vicenza, Belluno e Ancona and Cassa di Risparmio della Marca Trivigiana (Cassamarca), in a ratio of 83.5% versus 16.5%. In 1997 the banking foundation of Cassa di Risparmio di Torino joined the group. The group merged with Credito Italiano to form UniCredito Italiano in 1998.

UniCredit Bank Serbia is a bank founded in 2001, headquartered in Belgrade, Serbia. It is part of the Italian banking group UniCredit, which owns 100% stake in the bank. As of 31 December 2019, the bank has a network of 72 branch offices in Serbia.

<i>Živnostenská Banka</i> Former large bank in Prague

Živnostenská banka was a major commercial bank operating in the Habsburg Monarchy, then Czechoslovakia until absorption into the State Bank of Czechoslovakia in 1950. It restarted activity in the late 1950s, was privatized in 1992, and after 1993 was one of the largest banks in the Czech Republic. In 2002 it was purchased by UniCredit, and in 2006 was renamed UniCredit Bank Czech Republic.

Circa 1999 to 2002 UniCredit created a new subsidiary of the same name to run the retail network of Credito Italiano. On 1 July 2002 the subsidiary received the assets of sister banks to become UniCredit Banca.

However, its former owner Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Perugia, still operated as a charity organization. The foundation and the S.p.A. were split in 1992 from the original statutory corporation of the bank due to Legge Amato.

Banca Cassa di Risparmio di Torino S.p.A., also known as Banca CRT or Caritorino, was an Italian savings bank based in Turin, Piedmont. In 2002, Banca CRT was absorbed into the parent company.

Cassa di Risparmio di Tortona was an Italian savings bank based in Tortona, Piedmont. The bank was merged into Banca Lombarda in 1999, while the former owner of the bank, Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Tortona, still operates as a charity organization.

Rolo Banca 1473 S.p.A. was an Italian bank based in Bologna, Italy. It was formed by the merger of Credito Italiano subsidiaries Credito Romagnolo, and Carimonte Banca. UniCredit Banca Mediocredito S.p.A. (UBMC) was an Italian commercial bank. The bank was dismantled on 31 December 2015, but the bank license was retained, which became 2S Banca, a company that specialized in securities service activities. Cassa di Risparmio di Verona, Vicenza, Belluno e Ancona known as Cariverona in short, was an Italian savings bank headquartered in Verona. In 1991, due to Legge Amato, the bank was split into two organizations, Cassa di Risparmio di Verona, Vicenza, Belluno e Ancona S.p.A. and Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Verona, Vicenza, Belluno e Ancona. They joined Unicredito banking group as founding subsidiary and shareholder respectively. The banking foundation was a minority shareholder of the successor of the banking group UniCredit.

Cassa di Risparmio di Trieste was an Italian savings bank headquartered in Trieste that operated between 1842 and 2002.

<i>Zemská Banka</i> Former bank in Prague

Zemská Banka was a significant state-sponsored financial institution in Prague during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It was founded in 1890 as the Landesbank des Königreiches Böhmen. Following the independence of Czechoslovakia, from 1920 it was known simply as Zemská Banka, or to differentiate it from other banks of the same name, Zemská banka v Praze or Zemská banka pro Čechy. During Nazi occupation it was known as the Landesbank für Böhmen, while its operation in the Slovak Republic were transferred to an institution newly established for that purpose, the Slovenská hypotečná a komunálna banka. In 1948, both Zemská Banka and SHKB merged into the state-owned Investiční Banka.
