The Unihertz Atom was released in 2018 as Unihertz's second smartphone model after the Jelly. [1] [2] Initially launched through a similar kickstarter project [3] that reached its $50,000 goal in only 60 seconds. [4] It features a 2.45-inch display, very small by industry standards, and at 108 grams (plus battery) is also very lightweight. It has a dedicated push to talk (PTT) button on its side. [5]
Unihertz Atom was marketed as "the ultimate rugged phone for outdoor adventures". Unihertz was associated with a previous very small 3G smartphone, the Posh Micro X, which launched in 2015. [6] Reviews of Jelly and Jelly Pro, the "world's smallest 4G smartphone" have been mixed, [7] [8] [9] but it drew international attention. [10]

There have been accusations of poor battery performance, and network traffic possibly sending personal data to China. [11] Responses claim the network traffic is to speed up apps, and the company has been updating the phone software to improve performance. It is not known whether this is connected to similar widespread problems, but the predecessor Posh Micro X was also criticized for running suspect software fotaprovider by adups, and the Jelly Pro does as well. The HTC Evo 4G LTE is an Android smartphone developed by HTC Corporation to be released exclusively by Sprint. A successor to the previous HTC Evo 4G and 3D models, the Evo 4G LTE supports Sprint's LTE cellular network and its current-generation EV-DO network. The Evo 4G LTE shares features with its GSM counterpart, the HTC One X—such as the same dual-core 1.5 GHz processor used by the One X's LTE variant, a 4.7-inch screen, and Android 4.1 with HTC's Sense 4.0 interface. The Sony Xperia Z is an Android smartphone, announced by Sony at CES 2013. It was released on 9 February 2013 in Japan and 1 March 2013 in Singapore and the UK. The Xperia Z was initially shipped with the Android 4.1.2 operating system. The smartphone has Ingress Protection Ratings of IP55 and IP57. It also contains a 13.1 MP Exmor RS camera sensor, and the screen of the phone consists of a TFT 1920x1080 display, with 441 ppi. Redmi is a subsidiary company owned by the Chinese electronics company Xiaomi. It was first announced in July 2013 as a budget smartphone line, and became a separate sub-brand of Xiaomi in 2019 with entry-level and mid-range devices, while Xiaomi itself produces upper-range and flagship Xiaomi phones. Redmi phones use Xiaomi's MIUI user interface on top of Android. Models are divided into the entry-level Redmi, the mid-range Redmi Note, and the high-end Redmi K. The unrelated Mi A Android One series is positioned in the same market segment as Redmi devices, despite being part of the upper-range Xiaomi Mi lineup. The most significant difference from other Xiaomi smartphones is that Redmi uses less expensive components, allowing lower prices while retaining good specifications. In August 2014, The Wall Street Journal reported that in the second quarter of the 2014 fiscal year, Xiaomi had a market share of 14% of the China smartphone market; Redmi sales were attributed as a contributing factor toward this ranking.
