United Dance Organisation (UDO) is a street dance organisation. It has around 85,000 members across 30 countries including Australia, the UAE, Germany, Japan, USA, Thailand, New Zealand, Belgium, the Netherlands, and some in Africa. [1] It was founded in 2002 by Simon Dibley (CEO). [2]

UDO hosts 22 regional events annually, as well as Six Nations, [3] [4] British Championships, [5] [6] European Championships [7] and World Championships. [8] [9]

They are based in Cardiff, Wales. [10]

UDO Academy

UDO Academy forms part of the UDO Group, an educational and training platform for dancers wishing to gain accreditation in various street dance styles. [11] In 2013, UDO Academy launched the UDO Street Dance Syllabus which is designed to enable dancers to gain accreditation from the Intro 1 and 2 grades through to a teacher level. It introduces the foundations in all styles of street dance. [12]

There are now well over 500 schools in the UK [13] now using it as well as schools in Canada, Greece, Malta, Cyprus and Thailand.

Encore

The Encore brand that forms part of the UDO Group also offer events in Jazz, ballet, Tap, Contemporary and Musical Theatre and plays host to events in the UK and Dubai. [14]

Encore Weekend is a dance weekend held in the UK, representing all dance styles.[ citation needed ]

Dance Show LIVE

Dance Show LIVE is Scotland's biggest dance exhibition. [15] This event is held in Glasgow's world famous SECC Arena. [16]

UDOIT! Dance Foundation

UDO's partner, UDOIT! Foundation, is a charitable organisation providing opportunities for the UK's aspiring, underprivileged and disabled dancers. [17]

Since 2014, UDOIT! Dance Foundation has played host to the National Dance Championships. [18] The event has industry professional judges and workshops with these judges throughout the day in various styles.

UDO Ambassadors

UDO ambassadors have previously included Turbo ( Got To Dance ), Ashley Banjo (Diversity), Mitchell Craske (Diversity), Perri Kiely (Diversity), Jordan Banjo (Diversity), Sisco Gomez and George Sampson ( Britain's Got Talent ). [19]

The Great Scottish Run is a series of mass-participation road running events, held annually in the streets of Glasgow, Scotland in October. The event began as a full marathon in 1979, but later changed to a weekend of shorter events. The weekend now includes short events for children, a 10K roadrace, and a half marathon. The 2013 event, which was sponsored by the Bank of Scotland, featured over 30,000 competitors. It is the largest mass-participation sporting event in Scotland.

The ICW World Heavyweight Championship is a professional wrestling world heavyweight championship owned by Scotland's Insane Championship Wrestling promotion. The title was first established as the ICW National Heavyweight Championship at ICW's debut show on October 15, 2006, with Drew Galloway becoming the inaugural champion. On February 7, 2015, the title was officially renamed the ICW World Heavyweight Championship after Galloway successfully defended the title in a match against Matt Hardy for the Family Wrestling Entertainment promotion in New York. The championship has been defended in the United Kingdom, Ireland, the United States, Australia, Denmark, Italy and Germany. In addition to these international title matches, defenses can be seen televised in over 30 countries via Fight Network as well as an international presence on iPPV.

The ICW Women's World Championship is a women's professional wrestling championship owned by Scotland's Insane Championship Wrestling promotion. Molly Spartan is the current champion in her first reign. She won the title by defeating Angel Hayze on April 24, 2022, at ICW: Barred II in Glasgow, Scotland

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Oireachtas Rince na Cruinne</span> Annual Irish stepdance competition

Oireachtas Rince na Cruinne is an annual Irish stepdance competition run by An Coimisiún Le Rincí Gaelacha. The Worlds include competitions for solo stepdance, organised by gender and age; and for certain traditional and original ceili dances, also divided by age group and team gender composition. Oireachtas Rince na Cruinne is the top competition of the hierarchical system operated by An Coimisiún, and dancers must qualify at major Irish stepdance events across the world in order to compete.
