The United States Army Information Systems Engineering Command (USAISEC) is a unit of the US Army under Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM). USAISEC started under the Signal Corps in 1943 as the Plant and Engineering Agency. [1] They would be reorganized in 1955 and again in 1962 becoming the Army Strategic Communications Command (STRATCOM) and would move their headquarters to Fort Huachuca, Arizona in 1967. STRATCOM would again be redesignated asUnited States Army Communications Systems Electronics-Engineering and Installation Agency. In 1984 the army would create several new designations for the agency finally settling on ISEC. The unit would relocate to Fort Belvoir, Virginia in 1987. In 1997 the ISEC would become a subordinate command to CECOM. [2]

New Mission

In 2025, USAISEC became a part of the Army's modernization program known as COMSEC [3] to update and make information systems at Army installations more resilient and less complex [4] using a modular open systems approach and a "Fords vs. Ferraris" philosophy.
