The Universidad Europea de Canarias (in english: European University of the Canary Islands) also known as the UEC, is the first [1] private higher education institution in the Canary Islands (Spain). It began its activity in October 2012, having its headquarters in the municipality of La Orotava (Tenerife). [2]
The university started its career in 2012 offering five degrees: (Business Management and Creation, Marketing and Business Management, International Management of Tourism and Leisure Companies, Advertising Communication, and Fundamentals of Architecture) and three Masters (MBA-Master in Business Administration, Renewable Energies, and Emergencies, Emergencies and Critical Nursing). The Canary Islands, also known informally as the Canaries, are a Spanish autonomous community and archipelago in Macaronesia in the Atlantic Ocean. Tenerife North–Ciudad de La Laguna Airport, formerly Los Rodeos Airport, is the smaller of the two international airports on the island of Tenerife, Spain. It is located in San Cristóbal de La Laguna, 11 km (7 mi) by road from Santa Cruz and at an elevation of 633 metres (2,077 ft). It handled 3,717,944 passengers in 2012. Combined with Tenerife South Airport, the island gathers the highest passenger movement of all the Canary Islands, with 12,248,673 passengers, surpassing Gran Canaria Airport. Today TFN is an inter-island hub connecting all seven of the main Canary Islands with connections to the Iberian Peninsula and Europe.
IESE Business School is the graduate business school of the University of Navarra. It was established in Barcelona in 1958 by Opus Dei, a Roman Catholic organisation. From 1963, in collaboration with Harvard Business School, it offers a two-year Master of Business Administration degree, an executive MBA, and executive education courses. It has other campuses in Madrid, Munich, New York City and São Paulo.
Gran Canaria Airport is a passenger and freight airport on the island of Gran Canaria. It is an important airport within the Spanish air-transport network, as it holds the sixth position in terms of passengers, and fifth in terms of operations and cargo transported. It also ranks first of the Canary Islands in all three categories, although the island of Tenerife has higher passenger numbers overall if statistics from the two airports located on the island are combined. The University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, also known as the ULPGC is a Spanish university located in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the capital city of Gran Canaria island. It is the university with the most students in the Canary Islands. It consists of five campuses: four in Gran Canaria and one in the island of Lanzarote, with Tafira being the largest. The University was created in 1989 after many years of petitions from the people of Gran Canaria. The university was incorporated through the University Reorganization Act of 1989. ULPGC was created as the aggregation of the teaching centres of former "Universidad Politécnica de Canarias", focused on engineering, and the centres from neighbouring Universidad de La Laguna that were located in Las Palmas province.
Torreta de Guardamar or Torre de los Americanos is a 380-metre tall guyed radio mast erected by the US Navy near Guardamar del Segura, Spain. It was built in 1962 and is the tallest architectural structure in both the Iberian peninsula and the European Union, and the tallest military structure in Europe. Its base is situated 64 metres above sea level at a distance of 1.4 km from the sea.

The GC-3, known officially as Circunvalación de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is a superhighway in Gran Canaria. It connects the two trunk roads GC-1 and GC-2 over a length of 13 km (8.1 mi). A good half of the north-south traffic on the island is now handled by the GC-3, which significantly relieves the Avenida Marítima and the Túnel del Ingeniero Julio Luengo.
Omar Ignacio Paganini Herrera is an Uruguayan electrical engineer, academic and politician of the National Party, serving as Minister of Foreign Relations since November 2023 under president Luis Lacalle Pou. Previously, he served as Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining from March 2020 to November 2023.
