Yanbu, also known simply as Yambu or Yenbo, is a city in the Al Madinah Province of western Saudi Arabia. It is approximately 300 kilometers northwest of Jeddah. The population is 222,360. The King Abdulaziz Naval Base (KANB) is a naval base in Al-Sharqiyah, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. It is operated by the Saudi Arabian Navy. The base is located about 7.5 kilometres (4.7 mi) southeast of Jubail and only 900 metres (0.6 mi) from the shores of the Persian Gulf. It is home to the Eastern Fleet and the Royal Naval Academy.
