The Wesley Foundation at the University of Kentucky is a United Methodist campus ministry and a Christian living community for students. It's located on the University of Kentucky's campus in Lexington, Kentucky.
The Wesley Foundation was established in 1945 and met at the First Methodist Church on High Street. In 1950, it moved to a small building on South Limestone. Later, it moved to a small building on the corner of Maxwell and Limestone Streets. The Foundation used this building as its primary ministry space until 1986 when the Kentucky United Methodist Conference obtained a residential dorm from a leaving sorority at 508 Columbia Ave. This purchase allowed the Foundation the opportunity to house 48 students in a Christian community. The dorm is believed to be the largest residential community of its kind in the United States.
The WF has two residential floors, one holding 24 women and one holding 24 men. Two members of the student leadership team serve as men's and women's RA, and share the responsibility of overseeing day-to-day aspects of the residential ministry. [1] This living community is a vital part of the Wesley's ministry, as it serves to deepen relationships among students, provide accountability and support, and emphasize the idea of allowing your faith to inform all areas of your life.
In addition to their Christian Living Community, the Wesley is also a campus ministry that provides a weekly worship service, free dinners, events, small groups, and co-ed Bible studies. The UKWF's mission is to "connect, develop, and send a new generation of Christian leaders who will make disciples of Jesus Christ and transform the world." [2] The WF is living out this mission by not only creating opportunities for service on campus and in the city of Lexington, but also by presenting, through the living community, constant opportunities for service and discipleship among residents.
The ministry is led by a director, an ordained minister in the United Methodist Church; an assistant director, usually a seminary student or recent graduate of the ministry; [3] and a student leadership team, composed of 7-12 students who serve in various positions. [4]
The Wesley hosts a weekly service, Renew takes place every Wednesday night at 7pm. Worship entails live, student-led worship, biblical teaching, and involvement in a transformational community., a message, and student-led worship. The Wesley also host a weekly Bible study, Foundations meets on Thursday nights at 7pm. Dinner is provided, followed by teaching and a discussion lesson based on a topic that is foundational to the Christian faith. The Foundation topics are things we believe our students should know in order to live as a follower of Jesus Christ. The Wesley also has Life groups which are a great way to find community and build deep, lasting relationships. Groups are divided by age and gender. Wesley Life Groups exist to support and challenge you through authentic sharing, truth telling, accountably, and prayer to help you take your next steps with God
The Wesley also hosts many events that happen every year or every semester, including Fall Retreat, Thirst, 12 Days of Christmas, Love Week, Coffee House, and most recently a campus-wide Worship Night held at UK's Singletary Center for the Arts. [5]
The 12 Days of Christmas is their biggest service event of the year, where students have 12 different service opportunities throughout the city in the 12 days leading up to Christmas break. Historically, opportunities have included decorating at nursing homes, caroling at UK Children's Hospital, handing out cookies on campus, participating in a clothing drive for local homeless shelters, helping with Step by Step Ministries, serving hot chocolate to the homeless population downtown, and volunteering with ministries like the Ronald McDonald House, Nathaniel Mission, Love Your Melon, Hospice of the Bluegrass, Lighthouse Ministries, and others.

Northwestern College is a private Christian liberal arts college in Orange City, Iowa. It is affiliated with the Reformed Church in America and enrolls more than 1,500 students. In addition to approximately 1,000 students in bachelor's degree programs, the college has a growing graduate school, which includes a master's degree program in physician assistant studies launched in June 2020. Northwestern began as an academy in 1882. It became a junior college in 1928 and a four-year institution in 1961.
Wesleyan University-Philippines (WU-P) is a private, non-stock, non-profit and non-sectarian university located in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija, Philippines and run by the United Methodist Church (UMC). Founded in 1946 as the Philippine Wesleyan College, it is named after John Wesley, the founder of Methodism. The university offers pre-elementary, grade school, high school, undergraduate, and graduate programs. It also initiated the Support for the Handicapped and their Rehabilitation through Education (SHARE) Program, the first school in Central Luzon to integrate hearing-impaired students into mainstream classes.
Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) is a private evangelical Christian university headquartered in Marion, Indiana affiliated with the Wesleyan Church. It is the largest private university in Indiana.
Candler School of Theology is one of seven graduate schools at Emory University, located in metropolitan Atlanta, Georgia. A university-based school of theology, Candler educates ministers, scholars of religion and other leaders. It is also one of 13 seminaries affiliated with the United Methodist Church.
A Wesley Foundation is a United Methodist campus ministry sponsored in full or in part by the United Methodist Church on a non-church owned and operated campus. Wesley Foundations claim ancestry in the founding "Holy Club" of the Methodist movement, a group of students at Oxford University guided by Wesley in "methodical" study, prayer, and self-discipline. Today a Wesley Foundation is the presence of the United Methodist Church on or near, and in service to, a state-run, non-church affiliated college or university.
Lexington Theological Seminary is a private Christian seminary in Lexington, Kentucky. Although it is related to the Christian Church, it is intentionally ecumenical with almost 50 percent of its enrollment coming from other denominations. Lexington Theological Seminary is accredited by Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada to award Master of Divinity, Master of Theological Studies, Master of Pastoral Studies, and Doctor of Ministry degrees.
Southern Wesleyan University is a private Christian university in Central, South Carolina. It was founded in 1906 by what is now the Wesleyan Church. The institution is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award associate, bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees.
The West London Methodist Mission was established in 1887 under the leadership of Hugh Price Hughes, a leading voice in Methodism and in Non-Conformity, and has a long track record as a Methodist ministry and as a spiritual home for "good works". Its early days are very much associated with its founder, Price Hughes, a strong supporter of Britain's temperance movement. The mission has been instrumental in teaching Methodism, and providing a spiritual and physical base from which such notable Methodists as Lord Soper worked. At its founding it was associated with suffragettes and suffragists, and gave them encouragement and active assistance.

Granger Community Church was founded in 1986 as a United Methodist Church by Mark Beeson, his wife, Sheila, and a handful of others in the Beesons’ living room. Granger Community Church is a multi-site church. The Granger campus is located in Granger, Indiana; there is also a campus in Elkhart, Indiana.
Southland Christian Church is an evangelical Christian church whose first campus is located in an unincorporated area of Jessamine County, Kentucky, which is just outside Lexington, Kentucky, United States. The church, which has a Nicholasville mailing address, is located at the corner of U.S. Route 68 and Brannon Road. The church has four additional campuses—one in Danville, one at the former site of Lexington Mall on Richmond Road in Lexington, one in Georgetown north of Lexington, and one in Richmond, KY which launched in 2020. It is associated with the Christian churches and churches of Christ. Its current Senior Pastor, Jon Weece, came to the church as a teaching pastor in 2000, and became Lead Follower in 2003.

Keith Vincent Garner AM is an ordained Methodist Minister, granted permission by the British Methodist Church to serve the Uniting Church in Australia as Superintendent of Wesley Mission in Sydney, Australia from February 2006. In that role, he had responsibility for more than 2,400 staff and 6,500 volunteers in 180 different projects engaged in social and community work with a wide range of community groups throughout NSW.
Helen Gray Crotwell served as the Associate Minister to Duke University from 1973 to 1979. She had previously served as the associate director of the Duke Methodist campus ministry. During her time at Duke, she published a compilation of sermons written by women and participated as a campus minister in the Silent Vigil at Duke University. Crotwell was the first woman appointed as a district superintendent in the United Methodist Church in North Carolina and one of the first in the Southeast. She served as the chairperson of the Commission on the Status and Role of Women in the United Methodist North Carolina Conference and advocated for inclusivity and female empowerment in the church. Her major interests included women and the church, women and theology, counseling, and the church and social justice.
Hinde Street Methodist Church in Hinde Street, Marylebone, London, is Grade II listed with Historic England. It was built 1807-10 and rebuilt in the 1880s.
