The National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) is a U.S. government agency that provides statistical information to guide actions and policies to improve the public health of the American people. It is a unit of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and a principal agency of the U.S. Federal Statistical System. It is headquartered at University Town Center in Hyattsville, Maryland, just outside Washington, D.C.
Henry Ford Hospital (HFH) is an 877-bed tertiary care hospital, education and research complex at the western edge of the New Center area in Detroit, Michigan. The flagship facility for the Henry Ford Health System, it was one of the first hospitals in the United States to use a standard fee schedule and favor private or semi-private rooms over large wards. It was the first hospital in the country to form a closed, salaried medical staff. As founder Henry Ford viewed tobacco as being unhealthy, the hospital was one of the first in the United States to institute a total ban on smoking. Henry Ford Hospital is staffed by the Henry Ford Medical Group, one of the nation's largest and oldest group practices with 1,200 physicians in more than 40 specialties.

Detroit Medical Center hospitals are staffed by physicians from the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Wayne State University School of Medicine, the largest single-campus medical school in the United States and the nation's fourth largest medical school overall. The Detroit Medical Center is fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
The Michigan State University College of Human Medicine (MSUCHM) is an academic division of Michigan State University (MSU) that grants the Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree, emphasizing patient-centered care and a biopsychosocial approach to caring for patients. Required courses at the college reinforce the importance of ethics and professionalism in medicine. In 2013, U.S. News & World Report ranked the college 46th for primary care. The college was also ranked for family medicine and rural medicine. More than 4,000 M.D.s have graduated from the college. Pre-clinical campuses are located on MSU's main campus in East Lansing, Michigan and in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, while the clinical rotations are at seven community campuses located throughout Michigan.

The hospital is a subsidiary of University of Michigan Health - Sparrow, and is affiliated with the Colleges of Human Medicine and Osteopathic Medicine at nearby Michigan State University. University of Michigan Health - Sparrow Lansing operates the only dedicated pediatric and adult emergency department in the region. The emergency department is a level I trauma center, as verified by the American College of Surgeons. It is also a Joint Commission certified Comprehensive Stroke Center. University of Michigan Health - Sparrow Lansing also has modern operating rooms, multiple helipads, an oncology center, heart and vascular center, and orthopedic department. In addition, 4,500 births are performed annually.
Spectrum Health System, commonly known as Spectrum Health, was a not-for-profit, integrated, managed care health care organization based in West Michigan. It merged with Beaumont Health of Metro Detroit in 2022 to form Corewell Health. Spectrum Health's subsidiaries included hospitals, treatment facilities, urgent care facilities, as well as physician practices that served the western Michigan area. Priority Health was a subsidiary health plan with one million members. Spectrum Health was the largest employer in West Michigan at the time of the merger with 31,000 staff, 4,200 physicians and advanced practice providers, including 1,600 members of the Spectrum Health Medical Group, and 3,200 volunteers.

A division of Ascension Health, it currently operates four hospitals in Southwestern Michigan, having previously operated in mid-Michigan and Metro Detroit. Prior to its acquisition by Ascension, it was headquartered in Warren, Michigan.

It merged with Spectrum Health of West Michigan in 2023 to form Corewell Health, with the headquarters of the new health system being located in Grand Rapids. At the time of its merger, the health system had a net revenue of $4.7 billion and consisted of eight hospitals with 3,375 beds, 155 outpatient sites, nearly 5,000 physicians, more than 33,000 employees and about 2,000 volunteers. The flagship hospital of the system was the Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, located in the Detroit suburb of Royal Oak, Michigan.

The hospital has 181 pediatric beds and is affiliated the Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University. McLaren Greater Lansing, is a tertiary teaching facility with 240 acute care beds, located in Lansing, Michigan on the southern edge of the Michigan State University campus. Among its services are a Level III Trauma Center/Emergency Department, Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Institute, cardiac programs, medical/surgical units, and women and children's health services including a birthing center. Also located at the healthcare campus is the Karmanos Cancer Institute at McLaren Greater Lansing and Outpatient Care Center.
MyMichigan Medical Center Saginaw is a hospital in Saginaw, Michigan, United States. MyMichigan Medical Center Saginaw is certified as a Comprehensive Stroke Center by The Joint Commission. The hospital is a member of MyMichigan Health, and is a teaching affiliate of the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine as well as Central Michigan University. The American College of Surgeons verified the emergency department as a level II trauma center. The 268-bed hospital includes various specialty services, including neurological surgery, critical care, oncology and orthopedics.
The Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (MSUCOM) is one of the two public medical schools of Michigan State University, a public land-grant research university in East Lansing, Michigan. The college grants the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree, as well as a DO-PhD combined degree for students interested in training as physician-scientists. MSUCOM operates two satellite campuses in Clinton Township and Detroit. The college is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association's Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) and by the Higher Learning Commission.
University of Michigan Health - West, formerly known as Metro Health – University of Michigan Health, is a nonprofit health system affiliated with the University of Michigan Health, with primary and specialty care services at 30 locations in West Michigan.
The Samaritan Health Services (SHS) is a non-profit, integrated delivery healthcare system consisting of five hospitals, over 110 physician clinics, and multiple health insurance plans in Oregon and is headquartered in Corvallis, Oregon. As of 2022 it is one of the top 10 largest non-profit employers in the State of Oregon with nearly 7,000 employees and volunteers. The Corvallis-based nonprofit was founded in 1997 when Mid-Valley Healthcare in Lebanon and Samaritan Inc. of Corvallis merged in an effort to more efficiently serve their communities. Over the years other organizations have joined Samaritan Health, such as FirstCare Health (Albany) in 1999, and the North Lincoln Health District (Lincoln City) in 2001 and Pacific Communities Health (Newport) in 2002. Samaritan Inc. began in 1948 when the Episcopal Church in Western Oregon, enabled the Corvallis General Hospital's reorganization as a not-for-profit facility.
