The University of Tulsa (TU) is a private research university in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It has a historic affiliation with the Presbyterian Church and the campus architectural style is predominantly Collegiate Gothic. The school traces its origin to the Presbyterian School for Girls, which was established in 1882 in Muskogee, Oklahoma, then a town in Indian Territory, and which evolved into an institution of higher education named Henry Kendall College by 1894. The college moved to Tulsa, another town in the Creek Nation during 1904, before the state of Oklahoma was created. In 1920, Kendall College was renamed the University of Tulsa.
The Daily Nebraskan, established in 1871 as the Monthly Hesperian Student, is the student newspaper of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Although many journalism students are on staff, the Daily Nebraskan is independent of the university's College of Journalism and Mass Communications. The newspaper is entirely student-produced and managed, and has a professional general manager, Allen Vaughan, who joined in July 2019 after the retirement of Dan Shattil, who retired in October 2019 after 37 years at the helm.

The O'Colly is published every weekday and distributed for free to OSU students at various points around the campus in Stillwater. The newspaper has been in distribution since May 1895. The O'Colly is ranked as one of the top college newspapers in the country, earning several honors throughout its history and has a circulation of more than 10,000.
Clarence Victor Iba was the head basketball coach at the University of Tulsa. Iba coached the Tulsa Golden Hurricane men's basketball team for eleven seasons, from 1949 to 1960. He is the brother of former Oklahoma State coach Henry Iba.
1870 Magazine is a monthly magazine based in Columbus, Ohio that primarily serves the central portion of Columbus and the Ohio State University community. Its first issue was published on September 21, 2005. The paper's writing staff is largely students from Ohio State, which are also its main audience; it is considered a student magazine in this regard, though it has no official affiliation with the university. Wayne T. Lewis is the publisher and founder. Madi Task is the Editor-In-Chief.
The Round Up is the independent, student-run newspaper of New Mexico State University (NMSU). It publishes daily breaking news and information on its website, and prints a weekly edition on the campus. The Round Up was established in 1907, and was first published in Albuquerque, New Mexico, US.
The Collegian is the student newspaper of the University of Richmond. Founded in 1914, the publication is staffed by members of the Richmond journalism undergraduate program, and is available in online format only, having dropped its print edition in Spring 2014. There is also a digital archive of the newspaper's content from 1914 to 2013 published online by the university. The first publication at Richmond College was initiated by the Philologian Society and Mu Sigma Rho in January 1876 as Monthly Musings, which was a monthly newspaper with a focus on literary articles, among other lesser topics. In January 1878, Monthly Musings was renamed to The Messenger. In 1914, when The Collegian was started, The Messenger fully moved to literary topics and continues today as a literary magazine at the University of Richmond.

Concordiensis is the student-run newspaper of Union College in Schenectady, New York, United States. It was founded in November 1877 and is the thirteenth oldest student newspaper in the United States and is the oldest continuously published newspaper in the city of Schenectady. The newspaper's title, meaning "of or pertaining to union," was most likely suggested by Frederic F. Chisholm '79 and has been in use since 1890. Since then, it has been informally called "the Concordy."

The Massachusetts Daily Collegian is an American daily newspaper founded in 1890, and the independently funded, student-operated newspaper of the University of Massachusetts Amherst. The Collegian is a non-profit funded entirely through advertising revenue and receives no funding from the university or from student fees. In 2018, the Collegian scaled back its print edition to one issue per month, with digital-only articles continuing to be released daily.
