Uppsala International Guitar Festival(Swedish:Uppsala internationella gitarrfestival) is an annual music festival in Uppsala, Sweden. The festival was founded in 2003 and was then attended by 200 persons, [1] but had by 2010 grown to more than 6,000 visitors, and 300 performers. The festival includes concerts, seminars, workshops and a guitar fair, and the main activities of the festival are housed in the main concert hall Uppsala Konsert & Kongress.

The festival emphasises international musicians notable performers include Al Di Meola, Paco de Lucía, John McLaughlin and Göran Söllscher. Recurring acts include John Williams and the family Sérgio, Odair, and Badi Assad. Another recurring act is the concert by young talents, where guitarists younger than 25 are welcome to perform regardless of genre. Since 2011 the festival includes a three-day pre-festival, focusing on local talents, thus making the entire festival one full week.

Alpha 60 is an alternative rock band from Uppsala, Sweden, formed in 2008. Their name is a reference to the 1965 noir classic Alphaville; Alpha 60 being the computer controlling Godard's dystopian city. On March 1, 2012 they released their first full-length album The Rock, the Vulture and the Chain.

CPH PIX is the result of the merging of the Copenhagen International Film Festival and the NatFilm Festival in 2008, which created the organisation Copenhagen Film Festivals. Copenhagen Film Festivals also manages the documentary festival CPH:DOX. The festival was founded by Jacob Neiiendam who administered the festival until the end of its 10th edition in 2018.

Uppsala International Short Film Festival is an annual festival hosted in Uppsala, Sweden since 1982. As of 2002 the winner of the award "Uppsala Grand Prix" and the winner of the Uppsala Film Jackdaw for Best Children's Film are eligible for an Academy Award nomination. The Beaches International Jazz Festival is a month-long music festival held each year in the lakeside Beaches community of Toronto in July. Originally started in 1989, it is now one of Canada's largest free jazz festivals with nearly 1,000,000 attendees, throughout its month-long span. The Festival takes place across a number of venues; stage concerts are held in several different parks within the area and also along a two kilometre stretch of the Beach mainstreet during StreetFest - Queen Street East. Dina Schneidermann was a Ukrainian-Swedish violinist who studied violin with David Oistrakh in Moscow. Schneidermann was born in Odessa, USSR. Having married the Bulgarian violin professor Emil Kamilarov (1928–2007), Schneidermann moved to Bulgaria. The couple left Bulgaria in the 1980s, and moved to Uppsala, Sweden, where they lived for the rest of their lives.

Gabriella Evelina Quevedo is a Swedish guitarist. She grew up in Kinna and developed an interest in guitar because her father played the instrument. Her father is from Argentina and her mother is Argentine-Swedish. In addition to Swedish, she also speaks English and she understands Spanish.

Sweden International Improv Festival, abbreviated as SWIMP, is an international festival for improvisational theatre. The festival was first hosted in 2015 at Reginateatern in Uppsala, Sweden.
