Histriasaurus (HIS-tree-ah-SAWR-us) was a genus of dinosaur from the Early Cretaceous. Its fossils, holotype WN V-6, were found in a bonebed in lacustrine limestone exposed on the seafloor off the coast of the town of Bale on the Istrian peninsula in Croatia by Dario Boscarolli during the 1980s, and described in 1998 by Dalla Vecchia. It was a diplodocoid sauropod, related to, but more primitive than, Rebbachisaurus. Phylogenetic analyses published in 2007 and 2011 placed Histriasaurus as the most basal member of Rebbachisauridae.

Undina (fish) Extinct genus of coelacanths

Undina is a genus of prehistoric coelacanth, lobe-finned fish, which lived from the Triassic period to the Cretaceous period.

Amiopsis Extinct genus of fishes

Amiopsis is an extinct genus of prehistoric bony fish belonging to the family Amiidae. Fossils are known from the Late Jurassic Solnhofen Limestone, Germany, the Early Cretaceous Purbeck Group, England, La Pedrera de Rúbies Formation, Spain and Bernnissant Iguanodon locality, Belgium and the Late Cretaceous (Cenomanian) of the Balkans. The monophyly of the genus is questionable, due to it being based on a single character, "the presence of three or more lateral fossae on each side of most abdominal centra". Remains previously assigned to this genus from the Early Cretaceous Las Hoyas, Spain have been moved into the new genus Hispanamia.

Oweniasuchus Extinct genus of reptiles

Oweniasuchus is an extinct genus of goniopholidid mesoeucrocodylian. Remains have been found from England and Portugal that are Cretaceous in age.

Benton Shale Geologic formation (shale) in Montana, Wyoming, and other states

The Benton Shale is a geologic formation in Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Colorado, Kansas, and Nebraska. It preserves fossils dating to the Cretaceous Period. The term Benton Limestone has also been used to refer to the chalky portions of the strata, especially the upper beds of the strata presently classified as Greenhorn Limestone. The Benton classification is obsolete in some regions, having been replaced by the ascending sequence Graneros Shale, Greenhorn Limestone, and Carlile Shale.

The Agua Nueva Formation is a geologic formation in Mexico. It preserves fossils dating back to the upper part of the Cenomanian stage of the Cretaceous period. It consists "predominantly of alternating fossiliferous, organic matter-rich, laminated, dark gray limestone and non-laminated, organic matter-poor limestone in decimeter-thick beds with occasional centimetric beds of brown shale that show no apparent internal structures." The formation is noted for its qualities as a Konservat-Lagerstätte, with notable finds including the plesiosaur Mauriciosaurus and shark Aquilolamna.
