Urs Meisterhans (born November 10, 1960) is a figure within the Swiss financial advisory industry. He was the founder and principal of the Swiss-based financial services company Sinitus AG, [1] until his departure in 2013. [2] The company was liquidated in 2015. [3]

Biography

Urs Meisterhans was born in Zurich Switzerland in 1960. His father was a teacher and his mother was a nurse. [ citation needed ]

Meisterhans continues to live in Zurich with his wife and three children. Meisterhans and his family have a keen interest in a variety of summer and winter sports popular in the Swiss Alps. [4]

Career

Meisterhans started his professional career in 1981 at HSBC's Zurich office. In 1982, Meisterhans moved to New York City to work as a trainee in corporate finance at the Nordic American Banking Corporation. Upon completion he moved back to Zurich to work for NordFinanz Bank Zurich (1983 – 1992) in a senior role as AVP Group Head of Corporate Finance and Credits. At the end of 1992, Meisterhans left Nordfinanz joining Rothschild Bank AG as SVP Head of Credits initially before taking on the role of Group Head of Private Banking.

Meisterhans had sat on the Advisory Board for Overseas Reinsurance Agents AG since 2005. [5]

Meisterhans has also served as Chairman of MISTRAL Media [6] and currently sits as Director on the board. [7]

Meisterhans has been a member of the advisory boards of numerous charities including the International Red Cross and Red Crescent [8] Movement and the Broad Art Foundation [9] throughout his career.

He is known in Switzerland for his philanthropic pursuits and encouragement of charity works on behalf of the Swiss financial sector.

Meisterhans was an advisor to the Suisse-Romande branch of STEP, the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners [10] which was formed in Geneva in 1992 to assist professionals maintain the highest standards in serving their clients, and to further the objectives of the worldwide STEP organisation.

Education

Meisterhans attended Schweizerische Bankgesellschaft (now UBS) for professional training from 1978 to 1981 from which he received the title ‘Banker with Federal Diplomas’. Whilst working at NordFinanz Zurich, he attended the Swiss Banking School, now Swiss Finance Institute and graduated in 1991 .

Urs Rohner Swiss lawyer, businessman and banker (born December 1, 1959)

Urs Rohner is a Swiss lawyer, businessman and banker. He is the former CEO of ProSiebenSat.1 Media and former chairman of Swiss bank Credit Suisse. After his 10 year tenure the share price lost 75% of its value leaving the bank engulfed in various scandals and subsequently apologizing for his poor performance at the last shareholder meeting.
