Club Atlético San Lorenzo de Almagro, commonly known as San Lorenzo de Almagro or simply San Lorenzo, is an Argentine sports club based in the Boedo district of Buenos Aires. It is best known for its football team, which plays in the Primera División, the first tier of the Argentine football league system. The Campeonato Sudamericano de Clubes Campeones de Básquetbol, or Campeonato Sudamericano de Clubes de Básquetbol, was an international men's professional basketball cup competition that took place between South American sports clubs. It was originally organized by the South American Basketball Confederation, and then later by FIBA Americas. It was played annually between the league champions in each country, plus the winner of the previous edition.

Reyes was born in New York he has played in the United States American Basketball Association, the Premier Basketball League, the Dominican Republic Liga Nacional de Baloncesto, the Mexico Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional, the Uruguayan Federacion Uruguaya de Basquetbol FUBB, the Australian National Basketball League, and the Puerto Rican Baloncesto Superior Nacional. Reyes has been a member of the Puerto Rican National Team since 2006.
Club Atlético Peñarol Basketball is the senior men's basketball section of the multi-sport club Peñarol, which is located in Montevideo, Uruguay. The team played in the Uruguayan Primera División, which was organized by the Uruguayan Basketball Federation, until its dissolution in 1997. The club is currently playing in Uruguay's second tier league.
The Liga Uruguaya de Básquetbol is the most important professional club basketball league in Uruguay. It is organized by the Uruguayan Basketball Federation (FUBB). The Uruguayan Basketball League competition began in 2003. Before that time, the Uruguayan basketball championships were only local metropolitan, and no competitions brought together all the clubs in the country. Until the Liga Uruguaya de Básquetbol was created, the capital clubs participated in the Campeonato Uruguayo Federal de Básquetbol, while the clubs of the rest of the country competed in regional tournaments. The Uruguayan Federal Basketball Championship was founded in 1915, making it among the oldest on the continent.
Club Atlético Tabaré is a professional basketball club based in Montevideo, Uruguay. The club was founded on July 9, 1931 and joined the FUBB in 1932, earning its promotion to the Second Division in 1934 and its first ascent to First Division in 1948. The club won the Campeonato Uruguayo Federal de Básquetbol federal championship in 1960, 1961, 1962, 1964 and 1968. The club later alternated between the Second and First Division, with its last promotion and title in 2011, returning to decline in the 2013/14 season. It has since played in the Torneo Metropolitano, Uruguay's second division.

It existed from 1915 to 2003, when it was replaced by the newly formed Liga Uruguaya de Básquetbol (LUB). The worst performing teams of each season of the competition were relegated down to the second-tier level Segunda de Ascenso, which itself was replaced by the Torneo Metropolitano, in 2004.

The season is named as "Néstor "Tito" Gonçalves" and began on 15 February. Nacional are the defending champions, having won the title in the previous season.
