The Utah Sport Bike Association is a not-for-profit sport motorcycle club, based out of Salt Lake City, Utah. Their primary focus is to promote safe, fun sport biking, primarily by educating sport motorcycle riders through rider education programs called ARTs (Advanced Rider Training) and by hosting the Masters of the Mountains (MoM) motorcycle roadracing series. It is also called the UtahSBA and USBA.
The club began in the late 1980s and its founders included Nick Ienatsch and Mitch Boehm. Ienatsch went on to become a prominent motorcycle journalist famous for authoring a popular motorcycle riding article titled 'The Pace' and a book titled Sport Riding Techniques. [1] Ienatsch then went on to become the head instructor for Freddie Spencer's superbike school. Mitch Boehm went on to become the editor and chief of Motorcyclist magazine.
The club struggled for several years after the state's only race track, Bonneville Raceway, closed its doors. In 2006, the club enjoyed a large resurgence after Larry H. Miller built a 90-million dollar road race facility called Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele Utah.
The club has developed a very popular riding program, known as the ART (Advanced Rider Training) program. At its beginning, the ARTs (Then known as the ARS - Advanced Riding School) took place in parking lots and riders navigated a makeshift course laid out with cones. In 2001, the BlackRock go kart track was built in Tooele Utah, and the school relocated there. Beginning in the fall of 2005, Miller Motorsports Park became the location for the club's ARTs, and in 2006 the club became involved in promoting the Masters of the Mountains race series at the facility. The association has three versions of their Advanced Rider Training program: the ST-ART (Sport Touring Advanced Rider Training) dedicated to riders of sport touring motorcycles, the Super-ART which takes place on the larger Miller Motorsports Park course, and the traditional ART that now takes place on the Super Kart track at Miller.
The Masters of the Mountains race series that the club promotes is held at and is co-promoted with Miller Motorsports Park and utilizes the various configurations of the track. In 2006, it was a five race series, and in 2007 seven race weekends were scheduled. Over $100,000 in purse and contingency money awards were available in the race series, contested by top racers from the Western U.S. and Canada, and local racers from Utah and Colorado.
Other club activities include operating a website and forum, monthly meetings, race-viewing gatherings and an annual banquet.
Motocross is a form of off-road motorcycle racing held on enclosed off-road circuits. The sport evolved from motorcycle trials competitions held in the United Kingdom.
Supermoto is a form of motorcycle racing held on race tracks that alternate between three kinds of track surfaces: the hard packed dirt of flat track, the irregular jumps and obstacles of motocross, and the paved tarmac of road racing. Supermoto was originally conceived by Gavin Trippe in 1979 as a segment of the TV show Wide World of Sports. It was something like an all-star game, in which the best riders from the three separate genres of motorcycle racing could temporarily leave their normal race class to come together and compete for the title of best all around racer. Today supermoto is a distinct genre of its own and riders in the other classes do not routinely cross over into supermoto.
Downhill mountain biking (DH) is a style of mountain biking practiced on steep, rough terrain that often features jumps, drops, rock gardens and other obstacles. Jumps can be up to and including 12 meters, and drops can be greater than 3 meters.
Colin Edwards II, nicknamed the "Texas Tornado", is an American former professional motorcycle racer who retired half-way through the 2014 season, but continues in the sport as a factory test rider. He is a two-time World Superbike champion and competed in the MotoGP class from 2003 to 2014.
Frederick Burdette Spencer, sometimes known by the nickname Fast Freddie, is an American former world champion motorcycle racer. Spencer is regarded as one of the greatest motorcycle racers of the early 1980s.
Trail braking is a driving and motorcycle riding technique where the brakes are used beyond the entrance to a turn (turn-in), and then gradually released. Depending on a number of factors, the driver fully releases brake pressure at any point between turn-in and the apex of the turn.
Brad Lackey is an American former professional motocross racer. He competed in the AMA Motocross Championships from 1970 to 1972 and, in the Motocross World Championships from 1973 to 1982. Lackey was notable for becoming the first and only American to win the 500cc motocross world championship, in 1982. Nicknamed "Bad Brad", Lackey was inducted into the Motorcycle Hall of Fame in 1999 and, in 2013 he was inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America.
Utah Motorsports Campus is a race track facility located in Grantsville near Tooele, Utah, United States. It operated under the name of Miller Motorsports Park from 2006 until October 2015. The course has hosted auto, motorcycle, bicycle and kart racing, along with corporate events.
Yvon Duhamel was a French Canadian professional motorcycle and snowmobile racer. A six-time winner of the White Trophy, the highest award in Canadian motorcycle racing, he was one of the most accomplished motorcycle racers in Canadian motorsports history. Duhamel was a versatile rider competing in numerous motorcycle racing disciplines including; trials, motocross, ice racing, drag racing, flat track racing and most prominently in road racing as a member of the Kawasaki factory racing team. His motorcycle racing career spanned the transition from the 60 horsepower four-stroke motorcycles of the 1960s, to the 100 horsepower two-stroke motorcycles of the 1970s. Even when Duhamel's motorcycle had a top speed advantage, he never slowed to conserve his machine, which led to spectacular crashes or mechanical failures as often as it led to race victories. Duhamel's reputation as a tenacious competitor with an aggressive riding style earned him the respect of other racers and made him popular with racing fans.

Maria Costello MBE from Spratton in Northamptonshire, is a British motorcycle racer who held the Guinness World Record for being the fastest woman to lap the Isle of Man TT course at an average speed of 114.73 mph until Jenny Tinmouth took the record at the 2009 TT.

Motor sport in New Zealand can be traced back to a least 1901 when the Pioneer Cycle Club held a three-mile handicap race which included both motor bikes and cars. Since then it has developed and now almost all types of motor sport events are represented.
Kenneth E. Hill is a former motorcycle road racer turned riding and racing coach. He is considered to be one of the top motorcycle coaches in the United States for his work with successful riders in the MotoAmerica AMA/FIM North American Road Racing Series. Hill currently coaches 2015 and 2018 MotoAmerica Supersport Champion J. D.
