UTURN Entertainment is an online entertainment network providing Arabic video content.

UTURN was established in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, as a digital production company in 2010. [1] It started by producing original YouTube shows (Eysh Elly, 3al6ayer, Noon Alniswa, Ana W Heya, Aldor Al3asher).[ citation needed ] After the first batch of shows, UTURN started to create and aggregate online video content, targeting Arab audiences worldwide, especially from Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, and Bahrain. The Financial Times named UTURN the largest MCN (multi-channel network) in the region.[ citation needed ][ when? ]

Kaswara Alkhatib the CEO of UTURN was ranked #1 in the Forbes Middle East list of Entrepreneurs Shaping Saudi Arabia's Future in 2015. [2]

Following the spin-off, the channels' parent company was incorporated in January 2014 as their holding company. The channels primarily broadcast in Arabic, but it also offers feeds in English, French, and Spanish.

Majid Al Futtaim is an Emirati holding company based in Dubai. As of 2015, it owned and operated shopping malls, retail, and leisure establishments in the Middle East and North Africa with operations in 13 countries including UAE, Lebanon, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan, Pakistan, Iraq, Armenia, Iran, and Georgia. The group was established by Majid Al Futtaim in 1992 and manages three major operating subsidiaries: Majid Al Futtaim Properties, Majid Al Futtaim Retail, and Majid Al Futtaim Ventures.

Television in Saudi Arabia was introduced in 1965, but is now dominated by just five major companies: Middle East Broadcasting Center, SM Enterprise TV, Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation, Rotana and Saudi TV. Together, they control 80% of the pan-Arab broadcasting market. Saudi Arabia is a major market for pan-Arab satellite and pay-TV. Saudi investors are behind the major networks MBC, which is based in Dubai, and Emirates based OSN. The Saudi government estimated that in 2000 the average Saudi spent 50% to 100% more time watching television than his or her European or US counterpart. On average, 2.7 hours are spent daily watching TV in Saudi Arabia.

beoutQ Pirate pay television broadcaster serving Saudi Arabia

beoutQ was a pirate pay television broadcaster that operated in Saudi Arabia between August 2017 and August 2019. The service consisted of ten satellite television channels that carried rebranded feeds of programming from Qatari broadcaster beIN Sports. beoutQ began operations after Saudi Arabia blocked beIN Media Group from offering its services in the country; the action stemmed from a then-ongoing diplomatic crisis between Qatar and other Arab countries over its alleged state sponsorship of terrorist groups. The service operated out of facilities in Saudi Arabia, and utilised the Arabsat satellites for transmission. The channels also carried propaganda accusing beIN Sports of being a monopoly.

He earned his fame through his satirical programs on YouTube. His YouTube show EyshElly was rated No. 1 show in Saudi Arabia for more than six years. He also appeared in the "Sheft Al-Layl" TV series in 2012 as guest of honor, in 2015 he became the first person in the Middle East to earn the video-sharing website's highly-coveted Golden Button.
