Uuno Brander

Uuno Edvard Brander (23 July 1870 - 13 July 1934) was a Finnish agronomist, civil servant, farmer and politician, born in Kitee. He served as Minister of Agriculture from 27 November 1918 to 17 April 1919 and as Deputy Minister of Agriculture from 22 December 1928 to 18 August 1929. He was a member of the Parliament of Finland, representing the Young Finnish Party from 1907 to 1910 and from 1911 to 1917 and the National Progressive Party from 1924 to 1927 and from 1930 to 1933. He was the younger brother of Augusta Laine and the elder brother of Helena and Akseli Brander. Johannes Laine was his brother-in-law. [1]

Helena Elisabet Brander was a Finnish teacher of handicraft, school director and politician. She was a member of the Parliament of Finland, representing the Young Finnish Party from May to December 1918 and the National Progressive Party from December 1918 to March 1919. She was born in Kitee, the younger sister of Augusta Laine and Uuno Brander and the elder sister of Akseli Brander.

Augusta Ottilia Laine was a Finnish teacher of home economics and politician. She was a member of the Parliament of Finland, representing the Young Finnish Party from 1917 to 1918 and the National Progressive Party from 1918 to 1919 and in 1922. She was the elder sister of Uuno, Helena and Akseli Brander. She was married to Johannes Laine.

Johannes Laine was a Finnish educationist, school director and politician. He was a member of the Parliament of Finland from 1913 to 1916, representing the Young Finnish Party. He was later active in the National Progressive Party. He was married to Augusta Laine.

He was a member of the Parliament of Finland from 1927 to 1951, representing the Agrarian League.

Isak Wilho Laine was a Finnish carpenter and politician, born in Köyliö. He was a member of the Parliament of Finland from 1907 to 1908 and again from 1910 to 1913, representing the Social Democratic Party of Finland (SDP). During the Finnish Civil War he sided with the Reds, was made prisoner by White troops and shot in Hämeenlinna on 21 May 1918.

He served as Deputy Minister of Agriculture from 29 July 1948 to 17 March 1950 and Deputy Minister of the Interior from 30 July 1948 to 17 March 1950. He was a member of the Parliament of Finland from 1936 to 1951, representing the Social Democratic Party of Finland (SDP). His son, Erkki Raatikainen, was also a journalist and politician.

Tahvo Heikki Rönkkö was a Finnish farmer and politician, born in Sonkajärvi. He served as Minister of Agriculture from 14 July 1961 to 13 April 1962. Rönkkö was a Member of the Parliament of Finland from 1948 to 1972, representing the Agrarian League, which renamed itself the Centre Party in 1965.
