Vasja Rupnik (born June 6, 1977 in Ljubljana, Slovenia [1] ) is a Slovenian biathlete.

Rupnik represented Slovenia at the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Leon Rupnik, also known as Lav Rupnik or Lev Rupnik was a Slovene general in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia who collaborated with the Fascist Italian and Nazi German occupation forces during World War II. Rupnik served as the President of the Provincial Government of the Nazi-occupied Province of Ljubljana from November 1943 to early May 1945. Between September 1944 and early May 1945, he also served as chief inspector of the Slovene Home Guard, a collaborationist militia, although he did not have any military command until the last month of the war.

The Slovenia men's national basketball team represents Slovenia in international basketball competitions, and is managed by the Basketball Federation of Slovenia. Since the independence of Slovenia in 1991, the national team has competed at every EuroBasket, and reached the knockout stage at every championship since 2005. Their greatest achievement overall at the tournament came at EuroBasket 2017, where they won all nine games and became European champions.

Erwin Friedrich Karl Rösener was a German Schutzstaffel (SS) commander during the Nazi era. During World War II, he was responsible for mass executions of civilians in Slovenia. Rösener was put on trial for war crimes and sentenced to death on 30 August 1946, then executed by hanging on 4 September 1946. He was posthumously included in the indictment at the Nuremberg Trials for war crimes.

Rupnik Line

The Rupnik Line, was a line of World War II–era fortifications and weapons installations that Yugoslavia constructed along its terrestrial western and northern border. The construction of the line, named after General Leon Rupnik, was a safety measure taken in order to counter the construction of Alpine Wall, a line built by the bordering country Italy, as well as against the imposing danger of a German invasion following the Anschluss of Austria.

The Slovene Covenant was an underground anti-communist organisation formed in Slovenia in April 1942 by a number of non-communist political parties after the killing of Avgust Praprotnik (1891–1942) by operatives from the Security and Intelligence Service, a forerunner of the Yugoslav secret police. It "adopted a political programme that strongly echoed the political positions of the OF". In 1943 anti-communist forces including the Slovene Covenant engaged in armed conflict against Partisan forces in the country and were defeated.

Lidija Rupnik was a Slovenian gymnast. She competed in the women's artistic team all-around event at the 1936 Summer Olympics. Additionally, she competed at the 1938 World Championships where she placed 7th in the individual all-around competition and led her team in scoring to win the team silver medal.
