Vedea is a commune located in Giurgiu County, Muntenia, Romania. It is composed of a single village, Vedea. It also included Malu village until 2003, when it was split off to form Malu Commune.

The Pasărea is a right tributary of the river Parapanca in Romania. It discharges into the Parapanca in Malu. Initially it was a branch of the Danube, linked to a branch of the river Vedea. During the embankment of the Danube flood plain in the 1960s, a new link canal was excavated linking the upper part of the old branch to the Danube, near the village of Pietroșani.
