Kamal Haasan is an Indian actor, director, dancer, writer, lyricist, playback singer, choreographer, screenwriter, makeup artist and politician who works mainly in Tamil cinema. He has acted in Tamil films and has also worked in Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, Kannada and Bengali films. Haasan's contributions to films have been praised by his contemporaries across the Indian film industry, and he has been recognised as an influence for actors and filmmakers in the Tamil film industry. He is a pioneer in introducing many new technologies and cosmetics to the Indian film industry. He has won 4 National Film Awards and 20 Filmfare Awards. After his last Filmfare award for Hey Ram in 2000, he wrote letter to the Filmfare Association requesting not to award him further and give awards to young talents and they accepted that. Gopala Ratnam Subramaniam, known professionally as Mani Ratnam, is an Indian film director, screenwriter, and producer who predominantly works in Tamil cinema. He died on 17 April 2021 due to cardiac arrest at the age of 59.
Nandamuri Balakrishna, mononymously known as Balakrishna or Balayya, is an Indian actor, producer and politician. He appeared in more than 100 Telugu films over forty years in a variety of roles and established himself as one of the leading actors of Telugu cinema. Puneeth Rajkumar, colloquially known as Appu, was an Indian actor, playback singer, television presenter, and producer, who worked in Kannada cinema. He was one of the most popular actors in Kannada cinema. He was the lead in 29 films; as a child, he appeared in many films. His performances in Vasantha Geetha (1980), Bhagyavantha (1981), Chalisuva Modagalu (1982), Eradu Nakshatragalu (1983), Bhakta Prahaladha, Yarivanu and Bettada Hoovu (1985) were praised. He won the National Film Award for Best Child Artist for his role of Ramu in Bettada Hoovu. He also won Karnataka State Award Best Child artist for Chalisuva Modagalu and Eradu Nakshatragalu. Puneeth's first lead role was in 2002's Appu. The Karnataka Government conferred the state's highest civilian award, Karnataka Ratna, on Puneeth Rajkumar in November 2021, posthumously.

Parthiban Kanavu is a 1960 Indian Tamil historical fiction film, directed by D. Yoganand. The film stars Vyjayanthimala, Gemini Ganesan and S. V. Ranga Rao, with Ragini, S. V. Subbaiah, Kumari Kamala, T. S. Balaiah, P. S. Veerappa and S. A. Ashokan in supporting roles. It is based on the 1942 historical novel of the same name, written by Kalki Krishnamurthy. The film also had actor K. Balaji in a special appearance and actress B. Saroja Devi as an extra.
Sandhya Raagam is a 1989 Indian Tamil-language drama film produced, written and directed by Balu Mahendra. It stars Chokkalinga Bagavathar, Oviyar Veera Santhanam and Archana in prominent roles. Shot in black-and-white, the film was photographed and edited by Mahendra himself. At the 37th National Film Awards, it won the Award for Best Film on Family Welfare (1990).
Joseph George, better known as Joju George is an Indian actor, playback singer and producer who works mainly in Malayalam cinema. In the year 2015, he stepped into film production and produced movies like Charlie and Udaharanam Sujatha before successfully launching his own production house Appu Pathu Pappu Production, which has produced several of his movies.
