Venkateswara Rao Yadlapalli is an agriculturalist from Andhra Pradesh, India. In 2019, he was conferred the Padma Shri award by the President of India for his contributions towards organic farming. [1] [2] He honored his padma sri award to the farmers such a inspiring person he is.

Life

Yadlapalli was born in the Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh. He has been involved in agriculture since his younger days, and continued to work for the development of agriculture and horticulture. To impart education and awareness about various farming methods, he launched three magazines: Rythunestham (2005), Pasunestham (2012), and Prakruthi Nestham (2014). He created the Rythunestham Puraskaram awards to motivate and encourage farmers and the Rythu Nestham Foundation (2016) to teach natural and organic farming methods. [1] [3]

In 2019, he was conferred the Padma Shri award by the President of India for his contributions towards organic farming. [1] [2]

For his contributions to the field of medicine, Rao was conferred Padma Shri in 2000, the fourth highest civilian award by the Government of India. He was also the founder and president of the Telugu Association of North America.

G. V. Chalam, also known as Guduru Venkata Chalam (1909–1967), was an Indian activist and agricultural scientist who received the Padma Shri in 1967.

Subhash Palekar Indian agriculturist (born 1949)

Subhash Palekar is an Indian agriculturist who practiced and wrote many books about Subhash Palekar Natural Farming (SPNF) Formerly ZBNF. Subhash Palekar was born in 1949 in a small village Belora in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra in India, and he has an agricultural background. He practised Zero Budget Natural Farming without using pesticides to cultivate. He conducted many workshops all over India. He was awarded India's fourth highest civilian award the Padma Shri in 2016

Kolakaluri Enoch is an Indian writer, teacher, and former Vice Chancellor of Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati. He was honoured by the Government of India, in 2014, by bestowing on him the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award, for his contributions to the field of literature.

Haji Kalimullah Khan, popularly known as Mango man, is an Indian horticulturist and fruit breeder, known for his accomplishments in breeding mangoes and other fruits. He is known to have grown over 300 different varieties of mangoes on a single tree, using grafting techniques. Born in Malihabad, near Lucknow in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, Khan dropped out of school at 7th standard and took to the family business of farming. Using the asexual propagation technique of grafting, he has developed several new varieties of mangoes, some of which has been named after celebrities and political leader such as Sachin Tendulkar, Aishwarya Rai, Akhilesh Yadav, Sonia Gandhi, Narendra Modi, Amit Shah etc. Anarkali, a variety of mango developed by him is reported to have two different skins and two different layers of pulp, each having a different taste. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 2008, for his contributions to horticulture.

Goriparthi Narasimha Raju Yadav is an Indian farmer, known for his achievements in agricultural farming. Hailing from the Guduru village, in Krishna district, in the south Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, he is reported to have recorded harvests such as 7.5 to 8.3 tonnes of Pusa Basmati 1 rice per hectare, 3 tonnes of black gram per hectare, and 4 to 5 tonnes of groundnut per hectare. He is also known to have grown a horsegram creeper with over 10,000 branches and a mango tree in his farm yielded 22,000 mangoes in a single season. He has been associated with the expert committees of the Indian Rice Development Council (IRDC) and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) as a member and is a recipient of several awards including Krishaka Ratna, Krishi Ratna, Krishi Samrat and the Jagjivan Ram Kisan Puraskar (1999) of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 2009, for his contributions to agriculture.

Anumolu Ramakrishna

Anumolu Ramakrishna (1939–2013) was an Indian civil and structural engineer, corporate executive and the deputy managing director of Larsen & Toubro Construction, the largest construction company in India as per 2013 statistics. He was credited with the introduction of system formwork and precast and prestressed concrete technologies in Indian construction industry, procedures which helped increase productivity, and was a co-founder of the India chapter of FSL - Global Forum on Structural Longevity. The Government of India awarded him the third highest civilian honour of the Padma Bhushan, posthumously in 2014, for his contributions to science and technology.

Girish Bharadwaj is an Indian social worker often referred to as Sethu Bandhu and Bridgeman of India for building around 127 bridges in remote villages across India. He was conferred the Padma Shri award in 2017.

Chintala Venkat Reddy

Chintala Venkat Reddy is an organic farmer known for his soil and nutrient management techniques in farming. He is the first independent farmer in India to receive an international patent for his technique in soil swapping and soil fertility.

Kanwal Singh Chauhan is an Indian farmer from Haryana, India. He is known for his contributions to crop diversification in the agriculture industry. In January 2019, he was awarded Padma Shri, India's fourth highest civilian award. He was honoured with N. G.Ranga Farmer Award 2010 by Indian Council of Agricultural Research in August 2011.

Bharat Bhushan Tyagi is an India farmer, educator and trainer from Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, who was awarded the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award in India in 2019. He organises weekly training for farmers at Bulandshahr and has trained over 80,000 farmers. He is also a recipient of Progressive Farmer Award by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.

Sandeep Guleria is a surgeon from Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, India. In 2019, Guleria was honoured with the India's fourth highest civilian award Padma Shri award by Ram Nath Kovind, the President of India, for his contribution to the field of medicine (surgery).

Dalavai Chalapathi Rao is a leather puppet artisan from Anantapur district, India. He received the Padma Shri award in 2020 for his efforts in leather puppet art.

Annavarapu Rama Swamy Indian classical violinist

Annavarapu Rama Swamy is an Indian classical violinist from Andhra Pradesh, India. He is known for his contributions in the field of Carnatic music. He is noted for inventing new Ragas and Talas such as Vandana Raga, Sri Durga Raga and Tinetradi Tala and Vedadi Tala. In 2021, he was awarded India's fourth-highest civilian award the Padma Shri in the Arts and Literature category. He was awarded the Fellowship of Andhra Pradesh Sangeeta Akademi in 1983.
