MTU Friedrichshafen GmbH is a manufacturer of commercial internal combustion engines founded by Wilhelm Maybach and his son Karl Maybach in 1909. Wilhelm Maybach was the technical director of Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft (DMG), a predecessor company of the German multinational automotive corporation Daimler AG, until he left in 1907. On 23 March 1909, he founded the new company, Luftfahrzeug-Motorenbau GmbH, with his son Karl Maybach as director. A few years later the company was renamed to Maybach-Motorenbau GmbH, which originally developed and manufactured diesel and petrol engines for Zeppelins, and then railcars. The Maybach Mb.IVa was used in aircraft and airships of World War I.

In 1995 Nordex was the first company to mass-produce a 1 MW turbine booster. The company Südwind Babcock-Borsig has been fully implented into Nordex on October 1, 2001. Now Nordex began also producing the turbines of the manufacturer Südwind, which had previously gone bankrupt. Nordex started producing turbines in the 1.5 MW class from 2001 - originally from "pro + pro Energiesysteme" developed the S70 and later the S77 - under license.

Until 2014, Stiesdal was the Chief Technology Officer of Siemens Wind Power. During his professional career, Stiesdal has made more than 175 inventions and has received more than 650 patents related to wind power technology.

Gullen Range was BJCE Australia's first wind farm, when it bought the project in 2014.

The Golden Valley Wind Energy Facility is a wind farm in the Amathole District Municipality, built within the wind energy generation zone located in the centre of Bedford, Cookhouse and Somerset East, in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. The Golden Valley Wind Energy Facility forms part of a cluster of wind generating plants within the wind energy generation zone, and is neighbored by the Nxuba Wind Farm, Cookhouse Wind Farm and Amathole Wind Farm. The wind farm is owned by BioTherm Energy, Letsatsi Trust and the Golden Valley Wind Facility Community Trust - jointly Amstilite (Pty) Ltd - who appointed Goldwind as the EPC contractor for the project. In turn, the EPC contractor appointed Concor to build the civil balance of plant, OptiPower, a division of Murray & Roberts for the electrical balance of plant, and Vanguard for specialized lifting.
