Vensys Energy AG (stylized as VENSYS) is a German gearless wind turbine manufacturer which is majority-owned by Chinese turbine manufacturer Goldwind. [1]

Vensys licenses its products to several non-European manufacturers of wind turbines. In addition, Vensys itself manufactures plants on a small scale at its headquarters in Neunkirchen, Saarland. [2]

The Vensys group includes Vensys Elektrotechnik GmbH in Diepholz , which manufactures the electrical components, and NEVEN Windenergie GmbH in Trier, which is involved in project development.

The Goldwind Wind Energy GmbH based in Hamburg has been the company's largest single shareholder since 2008 with a 70% stake.

Nordex SE is a European company that designs, sells and manufactures wind turbines. The company's headquarters is located in the German city of Rostock while management is situated in Hamburg. Production takes place in Rostock as well as in China and for a brief time in Jonesboro, Arkansas. The company was founded in 1985 in Give, Denmark. Since then the company steadily grew. In 1995 Nordex was the first company to mass-produce a 1 MW turbine booster. The company Südwind Babcock-Borsig has been fully implented into Nordex on October 1, 2001. Now Nordex began also producing the turbines of the manufacturer Südwind, which had previously gone bankrupt. Nordex started producing turbines in the 1.5 MW class from 2001 - originally from "pro + pro Energiesysteme" developed the S70 and later the S77 - under license.

Adwen GmbH is an offshore wind service company headquartered in Bremerhaven, Germany. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Spanish-German company Siemens Gamesa. Previously the company designed, assembled, and installed 5-Megawatt wind turbines for offshore wind farms. It also designed and manufactured rotor blades through its subsidiary Adwen Blades GmbH, headquartered in Stade, Germany.

Stockyard Hill Wind Farm is a wind farm project under construction in Victoria (Australia). As of June 2020, 1 of a planned 149 turbines was operational and connected to the grid. When it is complete, it is expected to produce up to 530MW, which would be Australia's largest wind farm.

Henrik Stiesdal is a Danish inventor and businessman in the modern wind power industry. In 1978, he designed one of the first wind turbines representing the so-called "Danish Concept" which dominated the global wind industry through the 1980s. Until 2014, Stiesdal was the Chief Technology Officer of Siemens Wind Power. During his professional career, Stiesdal has made more than 175 inventions and has received more than 650 patents related to wind power technology.

Wind power in Rhode Island Electricity from wind in one U.S. state

Wind power in Rhode Island is in the early stages of development. There are several small scale wind turbine projects in the state. As of December 2013 there were 11 turbines at 10 sites in the state. In 2014, Rhode Island had 9 MW of installed wind power capacity, which quickly rose to 75 MW in 2019.

Gullen Range was BJCE Australia's first wind farm, when it bought the project in 2014.

Golden Valley Wind Energy Facility Wind farm in South Africa

The Golden Valley Wind Energy Facility is a wind farm in the Amathole District Municipality, built within the wind energy generation zone located in the centre of Bedford, Cookhouse and Somerset East, in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. The Golden Valley Wind Energy Facility forms part of a cluster of wind generating plants within the wind energy generation zone, and is neighbored by the Nxuba Wind Farm, Cookhouse Wind Farm and Amathole Wind Farm. The wind farm is owned by BioTherm Energy, Letsatsi Trust and the Golden Valley Wind Facility Community Trust - jointly Amstilite (Pty) Ltd - who appointed Goldwind as the EPC contractor for the project. In turn, the EPC contractor appointed Concor to build the civil balance of plant, OptiPower, a division of Murray & Roberts for the electrical balance of plant, and Vanguard for specialized lifting.
