Vertex United is aUkrainian business group owned by Borys Kaufman and Oleksandr Hranovskyi. It has a number of assets in hospitality, media business and finance.
Vertex Hotel Group manages hotel facilities: "Bristol", "Londonska" in Odesa and "President Hotel" in Kyiv. [1]
The Passage Hotel Complex came under the control of the group in 2003, when Passage CJSC was established, the shareholders of which were Ukrbudservice LLC and Clear Water Bay Hotels (United States), both owned by Hranovskyi and Kaufman. Instead of the hotel building, which the city transferred to the statutory fund of the CJSC, it owned 35% of the shares. Kaufman and Hranovskyi, instead of 65% of the shares, had to spend $11 million over 3 years to complete the reconstruction of the complex.
Until 2013, investors did not begin reconstruction, this was explained by the financial crisis. [2] In July 2013, the Odesa City Council decided to sell 24.6% of the remaining shares in the city to businessmen. [3]
In June 2013, Vertex United acquired the media project "Focus" (magazine "Focus", "Focus. Beautiful Country", website focus.ua) from the media holding UMH group. [4] Until recently, Borys Kaufman and Oleksandr Hranovskyi controlled the Odesa RIAK TV channel, but, according to some sources, sold it to the former mayor of Odesa, Oleksiy Kostusev.
From January 1, 2022, Vertex United is owner of the football club Chornomorets from Odesa. [5] [6] On January 9, 2022, the company's representative Volodymyr Heninson took part in a press conference of the club's new head coach Roman Hryhorchuk.
Ukraine has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 17 times since making its debut in 2003. Ukraine has won the contest three times: in 2004 with "Wild Dances" by Ruslana, in 2016 with "1944" by Jamala, and in 2022 with "Stefania" by Kalush Orchestra, thus becoming the first country in the 21st century and the first Eastern European country to win the contest three times. Oleksandr Vladylenovych Yaroslavskyi is a Ukrainian businessman. He was formerly co-owner of UkrSibbank and president of FC Metalist Kharkiv (2005-2012). Yaroslavskyi is the president of DCH and one of the most influential people in Ukraine according to Ukrainian and Eastern European media. In 2016, Forbes ranked him among the top ten richest people in Ukraine. In November 2018, Russia imposed sanctions against 322 citizens of Ukraine, including Yaroslavskyi.
Odesa Film Studio is the Ukrainian, formerly Soviet film studio in Odesa, one of the first in the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union. It is partially owned by a government and supervised by the Department of State property fund of Ukraine together with the Ministry of Culture. Together with Dovzhenko Film Studios they are the only state-owned and major film producers in the country. The studio is located at Frantsuzky bulvar 33, Odesa, Ukraine. In a close vicinity to it is located a smaller film studio House of Mask.

The 2014 Odesa clashes were a series of conflicts between pro-Maidan and anti-Maidan demonstrators that broke out in the streets of Odesa as part of the rising unrest in Ukraine in the aftermath of the 2014 Ukrainian revolution. Violence intensified on May 2 when a pro-Maidan demonstration was attacked by anti-Maidan activists. Two pro-Maidan and four anti-Maidan activists were killed by gunfire in the streets. In the ensuing clashes, the pro-Maidan demonstrators moved to dismantle an anti-Maidan tent camp in Kulykove Pole, causing groups of anti-Maidan activists to take refuge in the nearby Trade Unions House. Pro-Maidan demonstrators attempted to storm the Trade Union House, which caught fire as the two sides threw petrol bombs at each other.
FC Zhemchuzhyna Odesa was a professional Ukrainian football from Odesa. The club was founded in 2013, but dissolved in 2018.
Ruslan Serafymovych Tarpan is a Ukrainian businessman, living in the United Arab Emirates. The founder of the "Incor-Group" company, Tarpan served as a member of the Odesa City Council from the pro-Russian Progressive Socialist Party of Ukraine from 1994 to 2010, and was heavily involved in the rebuilding of monuments in Odesa. In 2010, Tarpan began construction on a deep-sea sewage pipeline. The project, which lasted seven years and was never completed, ended in Tarpan and his associates being charged with the embezzlement of ₴200 million. Subsequently, Tarpan fled Ukraine for the United Arab Emirates, where he has lived since 2017.
