Vetka Island is an island in the Sozh River near the Belarus town of Vetka. The island is known for a large Old Believers community which lived there in the 18th and 19th centuries. After that time the community was destroyed by the Russian state, however, and the Old Believers had to move further to the West, into Moldova, Romania and Austria, to avoid interference from the Russian authorities.

Old Believers or Old Ritualists are Eastern Orthodox Christians who maintain the liturgical and ritual practices of the Russian Orthodox Church as they were before the reforms of Patriarch Nikon of Moscow between 1652 and 1666. Resisting the accommodation of Russian piety to the contemporary forms of Greek Orthodox worship, these Christians were anathematized, together with their ritual, in a Synod of 1666–67, producing a division in Eastern Europe between the Old Believers and those who followed the state church in its condemnation of the Old Rite. Russian speakers refer to the schism itself as raskol (раскол), etymologically indicating a "cleaving-apart".

Although Skytop is unincorporated, it has a post office, with the ZIP code of 18357; the ZCTA for ZIP Code 18357 had a population of 87 at the 2000 census.

The College Ground was a cricket ground based in the town of Loughborough, Leicestershire. Initially the ground was a playing field of the Loughborough Technical Institute, which was formed in 1909. First-class cricket was played at the ground twice in 1928 and 1929, with Leicestershire using the ground as an outground against Derbyshire in the 1928 County Championship and Glamorgan in the 1929 County Championship. Following the merger of the Loughborough College of Technology, Loughborough College of Education and Loughborough Training College and Loughborough College of Art and Design into The Union of Loughborough Colleges and subsequent application for university status by the College of Technology, there was a need for a permanent base for the Loughborough Students' Union. Land occupied by the College Ground was identified, with the Student Union building being constructed on it in 1979.
Al Kifl is a town in southeastern Iraq on the Euphrates River, between Najaf and Al Hillah. The population in and near the town is about 15,000. Kifl is the location of Al-Nukhailah Mosque, containing the tomb of Dhu al-Kifl who is believed to be the biblical prophet Ezekiel. A project to renovate the tomb and develop it as a tourist attraction has proven controversial. The town was once a significant Jewish pilgrimage site and home to a community of Iraqi Jews until the late 1940s.
