Vetle Bergsvik Thorn (born 22 May 1999) [1] [2] is a Norwegian triathlete. His achievements include two gold medals at the 2023 European Games, in men's individual competition and in the mixed relay. [3] He also competed for Norway at the 2024 Summer Olympics, finishing 17th in the men's triathlon event. [2]

He won a gold medal in the men's individual competition at the 2023 European Games in Poland, one second ahead of silver medal winner Israeli Shachar Sagiv. [5] [6] He was also part of the Norwegian winning team in the mixed relay at the 2023 European Games, along with Lotte Miller, Casper Stornes and Solveig Løvseth. [7] [8]
Triathlon had its Summer Olympics debut at the 2000 Games, in Sydney, when men's and women's individual events were first held, and has been contested since then. In 2021, at the delayed 2020 Summer Olympics a mixed team relay event was held for the first time. The sport, and its Olympic events, are governed by the International Triathlon Union, known since 2019 as World Triathlon.

Brownlee is the only male athlete,, to have completed a grand slam of Olympic, World, and continental championships. Brownlee is also a one-time world champion in aquathlon. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest male Triathletes ever.
The Triathlon competitions at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, in Glasgow, were held in Strathclyde Country Park. The men's and women's individual events were held on Thursday 24 July and women's triathlon was the first medal event of the Games. Mixed team relay was held on Saturday 26 July for the first time ever in major multi-sport Games. Cassandre Beaugrand is a French triathlete. She is the only female triathlete to have won a gold medal in the three major competitions, Olympic Games (2024), World Championships (2024) and European Championships (2022).
James George Guy is an English competitive swimmer who specialises in freestyle and butterfly. Guy has won multiple gold medals at each of the major international meets available to him, including for Great Britain at the Olympic Games (3), the World (5) and European Championships (7), and for England in the Commonwealth Games (2). Jessica Learmonth is a British triathlete. Learmonth is a European, Commonwealth, Olympic and World Triathlon Series medal winner based in Leeds, England where she trains at the Leeds Triathlon Centre. She won the European Triathlon Championship in 2017 and took silver in 2018. She competed in the women's event and the mixed relay at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, winning silver medals in both disciplines. Learmonth won silver in the 2019 World Triathlon Series.
Thomas William Darnton Dean is a British competitive freestyle swimmer. He is a triple Olympic gold medallist, winning gold individually in 200 metre freestyle at the 2020 Summer Olympics and as part of a team in 4 × 200 m freestyle relay at the 2020 Summer Olympics and the 2024 Summer Olympics.

Shachar Sagiv is an Israeli Olympic triathlete. In 2016, he won the bronze medal in the U23 European Triathlon Championships. Sagiv competed in the men's triathlon at the 2020 Summer Olympics in 2021, coming in 20th. He won a silver medal in the 2023 European Games. Sagiv represented Israel at the 2024 Paris Olympics in the Men's triathlon.
Great Britain, the team of the British Olympic Association (BOA) which represents the United Kingdom, competed at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris from 26 July to 11 August 2024. The delegation of 327 athletes included 172 women and 155 men and featured 73 medallists from previous Games. The team was made up of athletes from the whole United Kingdom including Northern Ireland. Both the reigning Olympic and World Champions at mixed relay, Great Britain and France, are set to start : both have already qualified for the event in Paris 2024.
