This Side of the Moon is the third studio album by American singer Elizabeth Cook, released on May 17, 2005, by Hog Country Production. Cook based the album on her experience with the Warner Bros. record label, which had released her second studio album, Hey Y'all in 2002. Initially signed to AOL-Time Warner, she was transferred to Warner Bros. and experienced problems with the label, including an album delay. Hey Y'all was commercially unsuccessful and was not heavily promoted; its songs were not played on country radio. Cook voluntarily left Warner Bros. in 2003, and used her disappointment working in Nashville's Music Row as inspiration for her follow-up album.
That Don't Make Me a Bad Guy is the twelfth studio album by American country music artist Toby Keith. It was released on October 28, 2008 by Show Dog Nashville, Keith's own label. The album's lead-off single, "She Never Cried in Front of Me", reached number one on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in late October 2008, as did "God Love Her", the second single, in March 2009. The third single, "Lost You Anyway", was released on March 16, 2009. The album was certified Gold by the RIAA. Keith wrote or co-wrote all the songs on this album, collaborating with Bobby Pinson on all but three.

She has written songs with or for a number of artists including Michelle Branch, Faith Hill, Martina McBride, Shakira, Lady A, Gary Allan, Sara Evans, Carrie Underwood, Kellie Pickler, Bon Jovi, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Tim McGraw and Luke Bryan. In 2006 and 2016, respectively, Lindsey won a Grammy Award for Best Country Song for Carrie Underwood's "Jesus, Take the Wheel" and for Little Big Town's "Girl Crush". In 2011, Lindsey received an Academy Award nomination for "Coming Home", recorded by Gwyneth Paltrow for the soundtrack of Country Strong, in the Best Original Song category. "Coming Home" also received a Golden Globe nomination that same year for Best Original Song along with "There's a Place for Us", making Lindsey a double nominee in 2011. As of 2018, she has had 20 number-one singles as a writer.
"Work Hard, Play Harder" is a song co-written and recorded by American country music artist Gretchen Wilson. It was released in October 2009 as the lead-off single from her album, I Got Your Country Right Here, which was released on March 30, 2010. Additionally, "Work Hard, Play Harder" serves as the first single release from Wilson's own Redneck Records. Wilson co-wrote the song with John Rich and Vicky McGehee, and additional credit is given to Black Crowes members Chris and Rich Robinson.

Hank Fort was an American singer and songwriter of the mid 20th century. She composed over 400 songs, including tracks recorded by Petula Clark and The Andrews Sisters. One of her songs, "Look With Pride On Our Flag", was played at the second inauguration of Richard Nixon in 1973. In 1935 she established a dancing school in Nashville called "Fortnightly" which became a milestone for generations of youngsters coming of age to learn ballroom dancing and proper manners. It remained in existence nearly a quarter-century.
