Professor Victor Ngonidzashe Muzvidziwa is the current Vice Chancellor of Midlands State University in Zimbabwe. [1] [2] He is an anthropologist trained at the University of Waikato, New Zealand. His other qualifications, BA and MA, are from the University of Zimbabwe.

Career

Muzvidziwa is a career academic whose journey in higher and tertiary education began in 1983 as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Zimbabwe. He subsequently chaired his department, before being promoted to be Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at University of Zimbabwe. He went on to hold the same position at University of Swaziland. He returned to his home country after being promoted as Pro-Vice Chancellor at University of Zimbabwe. He then moved to Midlands State University where he became an understudy of the founding vice chancellor Professor Ngwabi Bhebhe [3] who was facing retirement. [4]

His research encompasses a wide range of interests including: livelihood studies, [5] gender, [6] marriage, [7] migration, [8] and housing.

Ngwabi Bhebhe was a Zimbabwean historian and the first Vice-Chancellor of the Midlands State University. He served as the Vice chancellor for Midlands State University from 1999 to 2016. PRESIDENT Mnangagwa together with the late Vice President and national hero Cde Simon Muzenda, national heroes Cdes Richard Hove and Cephas Msipa, were members of the first committee that resulted in the birth of Midlands State University (MSU).

Professor Rungano Jonas Zvobgo is the Vice Chancellor of Great Zimbabwe University in Zimbabwe. His second term ends in 2022. Prior to this position, Professor Zvobgo had been Principal of Gweru Teacher's College and subsequently the first deputy vice chancellor of Midlands State University. Nkemakonam Nwolisa Osadebe (1955–2015) was a Nigerian academic professor of engineering at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. His researches has been cited in publications and practices involving civil engineering in Nigeria. He was the acting head of the civil engineering department in UNN from 1993 to 1996. From 2004 until 2008, he served as the director of the National Equipment Maintenance and Development Centre (NEMDC), an organisation in the university. Osadebe has held positions in the Nigerian educational system including Dean, Faculty of Engineering (2008–2010), chairman, University of Nigeria Secondary School, Nsukka Campus Board of Governors from 2004 to 2007. In 2008, he earned the Vice-Chancellor's Award.
